The birthplace of Ayurvedic medicine, yoga and the Kama Sutra, India has a unique perspective on the world. From the healing of mind/body and spirit to the precious stones, sacred oils and colorful herbs and flowers that make up India’s rich culture, India is a treasure trove of gifts.

From its alluring music to its strange and wonderful scents and tastes, India offers the world beautiful traditions, sacred lessons and spiritual insight that is all its own.

I personally have a long-standing love and connection to India. It is here that I studied yoga, the art of crystal wrapping and the healing techniques of Ayruveda.  I have gathered from the earth and nature some of the most beloved gifts for you to enjoy!

Ayurveda

The principle medical system of India is known as Ayurveda and is over 5,000 years old. This “Science of Life” is considered the art of living in harmony with nature. This gift from India, developed from the ancient text of The Vedas, Ayurveda views the human body as a homunculus of our cosmic Universe.  The body is regulated by the balance between three primordial humours, call dosha.

Yoga

Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. Yoga is one of the six orthodox schools of Hindu philosophical traditions. Yoga as therapy integrates the ancient wisdom of Classical Yoga, Healing beliefs and Ayurveda, to facilitate the continuum of self healing from dis-harmony to vitality by serving through guidance, practice and education.

The Kama Sutra

The Kama Sutra is an ancient Indian Hindu text written by Vātsyāyana. It is considered to be the standard work on human sexual behavior in Sanskrit literature. A portion of the work consists of practical advice on sexual intercourse. It is largely “ordinary writing” — made up of sentences and paragraphs, without any metrical (or rhyming) structure, yet with many poetry verses inserted to embellish the teachings.

Chakra Therapy

The word “Chakra” is Sanskrit for “wheel or disk” and signifies one of seven basic invisible energy centers in the body. Each of these centers correlates to major nerve ganglia branching forth from the spinal column. In addition, the Chakras also correlate to levels of consciousness, archetypal elements, developmental stages of life, colors, sounds, body functions, and much much more.

The energy of our Chakra are constantly changing. They take in and express out the energy we attract or repel. The circumstances of our lives also alter the “flow” and interactions the Chakra have with each other and the environment. Stones of India

In the southern Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, respectively, are the famous Karur-Kangayam and Hole-Narsipur belts, known throughout the subcontinent for their gemstones, including aquamarine, garnet, iolite, marble, moonstone, ruby, sapphire, shiva lingham, and sunstone. The Star of India is the National Gemstone of this nation. This star sapphire, is one of the largest gems in the world.
