The “Rhythm” of Time

We are controlled by the seasons and the rising and setting of the sun. This powerful energy source dictates all we do on earth!  From seasonal allergies to “seasons of our lives” we follow the rhythm of nature and our own Circadian rhythm. Our hearts beat to the tempo of the seasons and follow the cycles of light and dark from how we work to how we harvest. How we sleep to how we rise. Discover the many influences and variables that connect us to Mother Earth!

Sweet Spring: New Beginnings

Spring represents renewal and rebirth. Seasonal living shows us how to live in harmony with the natural cycles of our environment. As the earth is tilted so that the sun is directly over the equator, this signifies the start of the vernal equinox. This time of Spring has been celebrated over the centuries as the beginning of the rebirth period. This season is one of the most embraced and most significant of the season changes, for it denotes the start of new life, regeneration of nature, creativity and the renewal of the spirit.

Super Summer: The Most Sizzle!

At the Summer Solstice the Earth assumes its most direct tilt into the Sun. Our greatest energy thrives at this time of year. This is a good time of year to be more conscious about and take care of the heart, small intestine, and blood vessels through exercise. In this season, learn how to stock your herbal medicine chest, how to choose essential oils for summer, do a summer detox, or discover more of the world through the adventures of traveling!  Expand your energy, branch out and learn more about you!

Fantastical Fall: The Autumn Shadows

Fall represents a time of gathering. As an expression in nature, this is the time when crops are harvested. Leaves are changing to brilliant colors as they float gently to the ground. Gathering and elimination are the traits of this season and can be seen in nature as well as human health.  This is a good time of year to be more conscious about and take care of the lungs, large intestine, and our skin by nurturing them well. The change in weather affects our respiratory and immune system, so it is a good time to build up your defenses.

Wonderful Winter: Mastering Introspection

Winter is introspective. The cold and darkness of winter urges us to slow down. This is the time of year to reflect on our health, replenish our energy, and conserve our strength. This is a good time a year to be more conscious about and take care of the kidney, urinary bladder, adrenal glands, ears, and hair.  Discover the best Winter survival tips. Seasonal Inspirations

The “Seasons” of Our Lives

In Andrew’s newest book, Lead Us To A Place ~ your spiritual journey through life’s seasons, he likens the seasons to stages of our lives. Each season represents a major life stage, age range and the spiritual lessons that seem to come out of our evolution through these cycles.

Our lives follow the flow of nature and our own Circadian rhythm. Our hearts beat to the tempo of the seasons and follow the cycles of light and dark from how we work to how we harvest. Metaphysically, life is divided into windows or markers, such as the directions, times of day, and seasons in the year.  These “cycles” will then repeat themselves in a never ending circle of life!

Vedic Life Cycles

In Vedic tradition, the original Indian text looked at the Chakra relating to a series of milestones in life. Each Chakra represents a time when certain skills develop and life transitions, a developmental stage of growth. Based on the Vedic text, each Chakra is likened to a milestone in life. If allowed to develop properly, it is synergistic to the growth of the human body.

Science of Life

The Ayurvedic paradigm of medicine works with the elements, dosha and seasons for better living. The “Science of Life” is considered the art of living in harmony with nature. In Ayurvedic philosophy, people, their health, and the universe are all thought to be related. It is believed that health problems can result when these relationships are out of balance.

Celtic Tree of Life

The Celtic Calendar is a compilation of pre-Christian Celtic systems of timekeeping, with the Gaulish Coligny calendar, used by Celtic countries to define the beginning and length of the day, week, month, seasons, quarter days, and festivals. The year was divided with the arrival of the darkness, in October, at Samhain and the arrival of the light half of the year started in May at Beltane.

Astrological Seasons

The principles of Astrology depict the grand cycle of life as the sun moves through the zodiac signs in one year’s time. When we look at the cycles of the moon, we can see the waxing and waning of life on a daily basis, a monthly cycle, the seasons and the representation of a lifetime. The zodiac signs are a window of time within a 12 year cycle and each sign resembles a life cycle.

Our Circadian Rhythm

This is our internal daily biological clock. This clock can be influenced by many different elements, such as light and darkness, time of day and temperature. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the clock shows us how our energy cycles its course through the 12 organ meridians over a period of 24 hours, spending two hours at maximal levels in each organ In general, when treating a patient in accordance with this biorhythm, the best time to treat an excess of energy is at or shortly before the time of greatest meridian activity, while the best time to treat depleted energy is following the peak times.

Season of the Indian

The Native American traditions sometimes represent the stages of life through the Medicine Wheel, a cross within a circle that indicates the four directions. The symbolism represents east – birth, childhood; south – youth, growing up; west – aging, mature adulthood; north – wisdom, death. The stages of life as a cycle, where, like the seasons, death gives rise to rebirth and is a renewal of the life impulse.

Feng Shui Cycles

The lunar calendar has a sixty year cycle. In Chinese Astrology, the five basic elements of Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth, which make up all matter, are combined with the twelve animal signs of Rat, Oxen, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep/Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Boar/Pig to form the sixty year cycle.

Lunar Cycles

The cycles of the moon are important when doing any kind of empowerment work in order to manifest what we want in life. When working with the energy of natural cycles, you are likely to get better results with the cycles of the moon since they have great power over the tides of our emotions. The 28 day cycle represents the complete manifestation of energy from start to finish.

Our Birth Cycle

“we grow each day as time goes by, from week to week, to months that fly, away as we approach the climb, when we were born, that special time. Our day of birth should be profound, for its the day when we came round, to show the world just who we are, and leave a mark that reaches far~ and wide we stretch our arms out long, obtain our purpose, and be strong!
