Zebra Stone

Properties: With black stripes to match it’s name sake animal, Zebra stone is one of the best stones used for balance. It is my favorite Yin/Yang stone as it holds the energy of both masculine and feminine, day and night, light and dark, new moon and full moon energies together. It balances the Chakra and the physical, intellectual, and emotional aspects. Use this stone as an Aura protector and cleanser for it works on all levels of the etheric body. The duality of this stone cannot be understated. In tune with both the Root Chakra and the Crown Chakra, especially (due to its color and mineral make-up) it allows us to be grounded as we keep our “heads in the clouds” and manifest dreams into reality.

Zebra stone can help one to sense their own individuality. Just like the horse, zebras like their freedom and nothing or no one will stand in their way to obtain it. Its’s duality is associated with the zodiac sign of Gemini. Considered a member of the jasper family, it is believed that zebra jasper encourages communication and encourages creativity. It has also been used by the Greeks and Romans in order to enhance the power of concentration. Because this is such a balancing stone, it is recommended for all kinds of phobias and irrational fears. Folk Remedies: During Greek and Roman times jasper has be used for for pain management. It was believed to help with kidney/bladder problems; improves skin, bones and teeth and alleviates muscle spasms.

History: Zebra Jasper (SiO2 + Fe, O, OH, Si) are considered a chalcedony stone, but technically are a separate group because of their grainy structure. Zebra Stone is also known by other names like Zebra Jasper, Zebra Marble, Zebra Agate, and Zebra Rock. It was first discovered in Kunnanurra, in Western Australia but has been specifically been mined in Africa, Russia and India, as well. This stone has a trigonal crystal structure, are opaque and take on a high polish. Zebra stone is typically white with black stripes, but it also comes in color variations such as green, red, and brown with white.

Cleansing & Charging Zebra Stone
