Heulandite

Properties: This crystal is used to “release the energies that bound us” including conceit, anger and jealousy. The constraints that hold us down can affect our will power held in our Solar Plexus Chakra and Heart Chakra. Heulandite is a stone used when dealing with a grief and sense of loss. It helps to neutralize distressing thoughts. This is a stone offered at midnight on New Year’s eve as it is helpful in discovering the old and the new, bringing the synergy of them together to achieve the best of both. It is a stone that helps one to increase their openness and willingness to become a more centered and loving person. As a tool for psychic development, heulandite is used for past-life recall in addition to accessing ancient Atlantean/Lemurian information. This crystal is associated with Sagittarius.

History: Heulandite, (Ca,Na)2-3Al3(Al,Si)2Si13O36.12H2O is in the mineral family of zeolites whose crystals have been grown aboard the space shuttle. This stone has been found in a variety of colors including white, brown, green, peach, pink and more. Heulandite was first separated from stilbite by August Breithaupt in 1818, and named by him “euzeolite” (meaning beautiful zeolite); independently, in 1822, H. J. Brooke arrived at the same result, giving the name heulandite, after the mineral collector, Henry Heuland (1778-1856). Heulandite occurs with stilbite and other zeolites in the amygdaloidal cavities of basaltic volcanic rocks, and occasionally in gneiss and hydrothermal veins. It is one of the stones that is said to bring one ancient mystical information from Atlantis/Lemuria including techniques and traditions.

Prior to 1997, heulandite was recognized as a mineral species, but a reclassification in 1997 by the International Mineralogical Association changed it to a series name, with the mineral species being named:

Heulandite-Ca, Heulandite-Na, Heulandite-K, Heulandite-Sr, Heulandite-Ba

Heulandite-Ca, the most common of these, is a hydrous calcium and aluminium silicate. Small amounts of sodium and potassium are usually present replacing part of the calcium. Strontium replaces calcium in the heulandite-Sr variety. The appropriate species name depends on the dominant element. The species are visually indistinguishable, and the series name heulandite is still used whenever testing has not been performed.

Cleansing & Charging Heulandite
