Dragon’s Blood Jasper Perfume Oil
(excerpt from Andrew’s newest homestudy course: The Crystal Witch ~ A Year and A Day of Spells for Empowering Life)
The crystal magic you are about to embark on, incorporates their metaphysical properties, mineral make-up and ancient as well as modern approaches to spell casting with crystals!
Ingredients
1 dragon’s blood stone
1 ounce dragon’s blood root (dracaena, daemonorops)
1 once myrrh (murrae)
1 ounce patchouli (pogostemon cablin)
1 ounce red saffron flowers (crocus sativus)
The serpent is, among many symbols, considered to represent the feminine. Slithering, wild and a temptress, she is one of the oldest emblems of female power. Authentic Dragon’s Blood Root (dracaena, daemonorops) is a bright red resin that is obtained from different species of distinct plants and palms. It is often used for positive intention, purification, protection and strength. This gentle fragrance has the subtlety of desire and the fire of a dragon!
Soak the root in 2 cups of water along with your stone, for 3 days. The color of the water will turn pink, and then red, the longer it is soaked. After three days, take the root from the water and strain the water into a bowl. remove the stone. Now comes the blending.
Invocation:
“An ounce of myrrh, patchouli red,
Into the water ~ root that bled.
A pinch of saffron flower goes,
To sanctify this mystic flow,
of perfume bath and healing oil
for evil, sickness ~ this will foil.
So, dragon let your glow unleash,
Anoint all those who need release.”
This oils is for healing. It can be used to also anoint candles, used in a spray bottle with water to spritz over your altar, home or sacred space, as well as ritual bath/body/perfume oil and serves all functions as it offers the “blessings” on the one who enjoys it! Some people choose to place the stone into one of the bottles. You can divide the oil into nice bottles and seal them well with a cork or twist top. Be sure and label them. Give the oil as a gift and use it in your practice.
