Today is Michaelmas (September 29). It is considered the celebration day of St. Michael and the Feast of the Archangels.
Because it falls near the equinox, it is associated in the northern hemisphere with the beginning of Autumn and the shortening of days. It was also one of the English, Welsh and Irish quarter days when accounts had to be settled. On the Isle of Skye, Scotland, a procession is held. Many of the activities that had been done at Lughnasadh (Lammas) have changed to this day.
One of the few flowers left around at this time of year is the blue Michaelmas daisy. “The Michaelmas daisies, among dead weeds, Bloom for St Michael’s valorous deeds …”
Several crystals have associations to the angels and are often used for clearing your mind, helping with emotional awareness, meditation and energy therapies. The crystals I have chosen often give us the insight as to what we need on a angelic-emotional level. Even their names are somehow associated with a higher vibration due to their mineral make-up.

Amethyst:
The stone of transformation, spirituality and dream recall. Associated with the Archangel Zadkiel, amethyst is the stone of transformation from all addiction, promoting inner peace. Used for contentment and meditation. Provides common sense and flexibility in decisions. Strengthens and enhances psychic abilities, imagery and mind quieting. Wear when sleeping or when awake to reduce anger, depression, grief, impatience, and nightmares. Most effective on the Third Eye and Crown Chakra. Amethyst contains the grounding color of red with the energy of blue, which is expanding, spacious and flow of peace. Amethyst is the color that you see in the sky as twilight transitions into night. Amethyst takes you on this transition from the magic time of dusk to a conscious shift into a different place. Crossing this threshold is the lesson of humility, which Amethyst can teach us.
Angel Aura Quartz:
This stone awakens awareness. A great stone for the Throat, Spleen and Heart Chakras. Aquamarine increases creativity and sharpens intuition. Excellent stone for meditation and tuning into nature. Quiets the mind and reduces stress. Helps bring about a tolerance toward others. Clears blocked communication and assists the user in verbal expression. Blue Topaz:
This stone is used for empowering group energies and understanding Universal Laws. It is a calming and soothing stone use for acceptance and deeper understanding. This is why it’s association with Archangel Haniel is so strong. Blue topaz assists the alignment with our higher self, encouraging creative communication and expression through writing, speaking, singing or dancing and helps us keep our focus along the path. An empathetic stone, it gives out its warm glow quite readily in an attempt to help. It initiates a calm, sensible mind, deflecting anger, bitterness, rage, resentment or emotional deadlock. Considered the truth stone, in Mexico and a poison detector in Greece, blue topaz was believed to change color at the presence of poisoned food or drink.
Celestite:
This is a stone of inner peace. It creates stillness for receiving, therefore, allowing us connection to spirit. It allows us to find serenity, harmony and easiness. It is most associated with the Angelic Realm. White, clear and cool blue, celestite gets its name from the sky. It’s gentle nature soothes nerves, reduces stress and quiets the mind. It shows us a life overview and stimulates creativity. Celestite increases self-expression, artistic creativity and healing. This stone helps the Throat Chakra by allowing for honesty, openness and listening. The celestial blue color helps reduce stress, worry and anxiety. Celestite is an Aura cleanser. It assists in bringing our higher vibrations in order. This is a very spiritual stone, seemingly connected to the divine.
Citrine:
This stone is a will power and energy renewer. Citrine is very versatile and is used for mental and emotional clarity, problem solving, memory issues, optimism, confidence and self-discipline. This is why citrine is most associated with Archangel Jophiel. Citrine reduces anxiety, fear and depression. An energizing and highly beneficial crystal, citrine absorbs, transmutes, grounds and dissolves negative energy, which makes it a very protective stone. Citrine crystals are invigorating and positive. They can surround and fill anyone with its brilliant color, energizing every aspect of life. Danburite:
This stone is used for awakening guidance. The high vibration felt in this crystal brings you light, clarity and a sense of purity. It’s association to Archangel Gabriel makes perfect sense, as there is a joyful attunement to the angelic realm the minute you come in contact with danburite. Soul purification is felt through spiritual awakening, revelations and transitions the more you work with this versatile stone. It empowers both the Heart and Crown Chakra, by detecting and modifying emotional blockage, then clearing the way through the recognition of old patterns and helping us to release the past as we let go of mental stagnation.
Diamond:
This stone brings about ascension activation. The purest and hardest stone on the planet, diamond will amplify your soul’s light. Most associated with the Archangel Metatron, it will quickly attune you to the celestial realm through its absolute brilliance and clarity. It is a healing and strengthening stone of both the physical and etheric bodies. Emerald:
This stone is best for healing through harmony. Emerald is a symbol of love and good fortune. This stone is used for abundance, growth, peace, harmony, patience, fidelity and honesty. This explains it’s connection to Archangel Raphael It is used against negative energy and has been used in many forms of divination. Most effective on the Heart Chakra perhaps because it access desires held deep within. Emerald provides inspiration and helps those in need of balance, healing and infinite patience. Helps the wearer gain physical, emotional, and mental equilibrium. It gives wisdom from the mental plane, so that the possessor is motivated to give love and wisdom to others.
Fulgurite:
Considered the lightning stone (or finger of God), it is associated with earth healing, absent healing and prayer. Fulgurites are some of the most powerful stones and along with the power of prayer, they can help to manifest one’s visions. Compatible with Archangel Sandalphon, fulgurites have a high-frequency vibration and seem to hold a clear, strong resonance with the powerful electrical force that created them. Lapis Lazuli:
This is the stone of ancient knowledge and wisdom. Lapis resonates on a very high, harmonious level as it brings peace and deeper understanding when looking inward. This is represented by the Archangel Michael. It therefore, encourages inner self- knowledge, embraces self-awareness and will show you inner truth, when you really choose to look. A wonderful stone to work with for self-acceptance. It’s deep blue color is like looking deep into an ocean of possibilities providing qualities of honesty, compassion and morality to the personality seeking balance. Lapis encourages creativity, self-expression, stimulating objectivity, clarity and self-realization. When used at the Throat Chakra, Lapis will help you in speaking the truth. Lapis promotes clear understanding through the power of intuition. When applied to the Third Eye Chakra, this stone helps to open up the ability for psychic attunement. It shelters the wearer like a shield.
Moldavite:
This is a great stone for bringing enlightenment and great change in short periods of time. This stone is used for accessing the higher self working as a catalyst for the inner evolving spirit. This is it’s association with the Angel of Transformation. It is used to align yourself with the power of the divine. Its divining spiritual nature is believed to come from it extraterrestrial roots. Consider moldavite when you want to bring mental balance, introduce yourself to new experiences and opening your mind. Moonstone:
This stone empowers divinity and the phases of life. Moonstone honors the Goddess in all women. This stone helps women (and men) to be more comfortable with their gentler feminine/yin receiving side. Its connection to the moon has been documented for centuries. This is why, moonstone is associated with Archangel Auriel. Because of its shimmering, glossy nature its color plays off the light as does the moon. Opal:

According to Gnostic lore, she is the mother of Superior Angels, the angels who stand before the throne of God. Opal contains water, correlating with our emotions. It clarifies by amplifying and mirroring feelings, buried emotions and desires (including love and passion). This brings less inhibition and more spontaneity. Rose Quartz:
This stone represents love and compassion. It is an amazing crystal that encourages beauty, peacefulness, forgiving, loving, self-love and emotional balance! This is the epitome of Archangel Chamuel. Rose Quartz works with the Heart Chakra. It’s valued as a nurturing friend that cannot be overstated. Neither can it’s soothing influence. Helps diffuse negative stimuli and uncomfortable memories. Helps us discover the ability to love ourselves and makes us more open to other people. It is of particular value in helping us to forgive ourselves, hastening self-acceptance.
Ruby:
This stone honors the passion for life. Considered the king of the gemstones, ruby has been revered as one of the most sacred stones on earth! Honored by Archangel Uriel who represents peace and unity among nations, ruby brings wealth, joy, love, sexual energy and power. Ruby strengthens physical and the emotional Root Chakra, amplifier of energy, both positive and negative. Grounding, stabilizing and reliable, which is essential for all matters of love, including self-love and any relationship. Stimulates motivation and visualization releasing energy blocks deep within the system.
Rutilated Quartz:
This stone brings consciousness and evolution. This is clear quartz with metallic, golden rutile, copper, or blue/gray titanium fibers that powerfully electrically conduct and amplify energy/thoughts/programming for healing. Seraphinite:
This stone of fire, light and illumination is considered the stone associated with Archangel Seraphiel who rules with the highest order of angels, The Seraphim. Seraphinite, is derived from the Latin word “seraphin” referring to this order. The allusion to angels is due to the feathery wing patterns made by the silvery Mica contained within the stone. Tanzanite:
This stone is considered the stone for nurturing contemplation and has been related to the Cosmic Mother and is the crystal associated with Archangel Tzaphkiel. A blue-purple-violet zoisite crystal, it can be placed on the Third Eye Chakra, as it powerfully opens this center for more clarity and insight. It was first discovered in Tanzania, which is how it got its name.
