Ajna: 6th Chakra (Third Eye Chakra): is associated with light, our archetypal identity, and orientation towards self-reflection. This Chakra is related to the act of seeing, both physically and intuitively. As such, it opens our psychic faculties and our understanding of who we are. When balanced, it allows us to see the “big picture.”. It helps us to experience spiritual wisdom and enlightenment. It is the center of physical and spiritual understanding. This is where we receive information that we “feel” from our gut or Solar Plexus Chakra and are then able to “see and express” simply what we interpret.

When unbalanced, we tend to lose sight of our intuition, and the ability to perceive those things beyond our own physical manifestation.

The color to energize this Chakra is indigo, a combination of red and blue. It deals with clairvoyance and mental activity.  To help activate this Chakra, add dark purple or dark blue accents of color through clothing, foods and lighting. The symbol of this chakra is the Pyramid.

Life development: The Third Eye Chakra represents the growth from age twelve to twenty. This adolescent time develops proper discernment and perception. This allows for greater insight. Greater insight shows us how to evaluate the action of others and their belief systems.
