Green Energy

~ Green is the harmonizing, balancing energy. It is associated with abundance and giving. It’s strong tie to nature is very important in bringing, peaceful, calming energy.

Green gives a feeling of renewal, new life, freshness, growth and clarity. The heart is the center of the soul and it is the heart that makes us one with our fellow man. Most importantly, it harbors love energy, the leading principle of life. Being with loved ones, family, and friends, strengthens the heart energy. Made up of the blue and yellow, green is regarded as a center of harmony.

In using green we must accept and allow love in our hearts and learn to give it without expecting anything in return. When our heart center is balanced, we are able to give positive feelings and happiness, unconditionally.

 

Green in Healing

Green can be used for practically any condition in need of healing. Because green is midway in the color spectrum; it contains both a physical nature and a spiritual connection, offering the psychological and emotional harmony we need.  It is the most restful and relaxing color for the human eye to view. While it is the color most associated with good health, it is also the color most often associated with toxicity and poison. Green can help enhance vision, stability and endurance.

Nature and Nurture

Green comes from the Germanic root  “grass” and “grow”. It is the color most associated with Spring, growth and nature. It represents the lush vegetation of paradise. The largest contributor to green in nature is chlorophyll, the chemical by which plants photosynthesize and convert sunlight into energy. Many creatures have adapted to their environments by taking on green camouflage. Several minerals have a green color, such as emerald, which is colored green by its chromium content.

Sacred Green

Green brings us closer to nature and therefore, closer to its maker. That is why we see a higher power in the unbelievable process that nature shows us. From change of seasons to sunrise and sunset, the wind in the trees and the ever changing weather, green is a spiritual color. Green is the most important color in Islam, as it was the color of the banner of Muhammad and is found in the flags of nearly all Islamic countries. It is often associated with the culture of Gaelic Ireland, and is a color of the flag of Ireland.

In Feng Shui, green is the color of renewal, freshness and new beginnings. Green belongs to the Wood element. Green works best with the Prosperity, Family and Skills/Knowledge Baqua areas of your home. When using green, consider using 3 shades within a space. Three is a powerful number and by mixing 3 shades, such as adding wall color, with accents such as pillows, throw rugs, blankets, curtains… you can create a very balanced state. Consider using lush green plants. They are not only beautiful, but also purifying the indoor air.

Food is an important and nourishing way to introduce color in our healing process. Our bodies benefit from the green food group. Green foods contain antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, active enzymes, bioflavinoids, chlorophyll and other phytonutrients necessary for optimal cellular metabolism, repair and protection! Green foods contain the most powerful combination of nutrients in any grain, herb or food. They contain almost all of the vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes necessary for the human diet, plus chlorophyll.

Wearing Green

Wear green when you want to create an atmosphere of peace. Green helps to reduce stress and creates security. If you wish to diffuse a situation, consider wearing green. When wearing green you are more likely to be successful in negotiating and mediating. Children also respond favorably to adults who wear green. Green is associated with prosperity and the Heart Chakra, as is pink, making these two colors a soothing compliment to each other, especially for self-worth.

 

Power Over Us?

The intoxication of green, may come from the fact that in legend, folk tales and films, fairies, dragons, monsters and the devil were often shown as green. Green was the color of the serpent in the Garden of Eden. European dragons were often malevolent, while the Chinese dragon was benevolent, symbolizing potent and auspicious powers. The dragon is also symbolic of power, strength, and good luck. In Irish and English folklore, the color was sometimes associated with witchcraft and with fairies, wood nymphs spirits and leprechaun. The intoxicating drink “absinthe” was known as “the green fairy”.

Are You Green with Envy?

Green is often associated with jealousy and envy. The expression “green-eyed monster” was coined by Shakespeare in Othello and “green-eyed jealousy” in the Merchant of Venice. Money is also associated with green, as is wealth and power, and therefore, the imbalance is true! In Europe and the US, green has also been a synonym for sickness or the devil, A green color in the skin is sometimes associated with nausea. The expression “green at the gills” means appearing sick. In China, its associations are very positive, as the symbol of fertility and happiness.

Healing Compliment

The complement color to green, is red.  The remedy for “too much green” in our lives is balanced by adding red in the form of red light, clothes, food or meditation. Red is associated with energy and strength. It’s strong association to fire, grounding and centering is very important in order to be balanced, determined and ambitious.  Balancing green with red, gives us a sense of equilibrium. It creates a feeling of being centered with a rooted repose. This desensitizing of neutral with a hot color, offers welcomed relief.

Chartreuse

Chartreuse is a color between yellow and green that was named because of its resemblance to the green color of one of the French liqueurs called green chartreuse, introduced in 1764.

Similarly, chartreuse yellow is a yellow color mixed with a small amount of green that was named because of its resemblance to the color of one of the French liqueurs called yellow chartreuse, introduced in 1838.

Yellow is perceived when the yellow-green cone receptors of the eye are proportionately more stimulated than that of the blue-green receptors. The eye is most sensitive to green light because green stimulates two of the three kinds of cones, L and M (so called because of their sensitivity to low and medium human-visible wavelengths, respectively), almost equally.

 

 

The term chartreuse is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as: “A shade of color resembling a pale apple-green”.

Metaphysically, These shades of lime, avocado or olives can be used as a color of manifesting, as it has the power from green and the brilliance from yellow to bring whatever it is you want in your life.

When you need to re-coup your losses, chartreuse is wonderful for showing you the power of growth and the humility of yellow.

Reunions are encouraged by the power of this color, as it is used to bring people together in unusual ways. By appealing to the masses when relating stories or gathering your will to communicate, it will end frustrations and be sure all your needs are met.

The Heart Chakra

This Chakra center is called the Heart Chakra and is the middle Chakra in a system of seven, located near the heart. It is associated with air, social identity, and is oriented to self-acceptance.  It is related to love and is the integrator of opposites in the psyche: mind and body, male and female, persona and shadow, ego and unity. A healthy 4th Chakra allows us to love deeply, feel compassion, have a deep sense of peace and feel  centered. The color for this Chakra is green or pink. It deals with physical healing, balance, harmony, compassion and love.
