2nd Trine

The twelve Chinese Zodiac signs are divided into four categories of three signs each, known as Trines

The second trine consists of the Ox, Snake, and Rooster. These three soulmates conquer life through endurance, application, and slow accumulation of energy. Although each sign is fixed and rigid in opinions and views, they are genius in the art of meticulous planning. They are hardworking, discreet, modest, industrious, charitable, loyal, punctual, philosophical, patient, and good-hearted individuals with high moral standards. They can also be self-righteous, vain, critical, judgmental, narrow-minded, petty, and pessimistic.

Your Inner Persona

The animal representing your birth month determines your “inner persona”; the person you wish you could be. This is the personality you long to express to the world, but have reservations being that type of personality.

The Chinese Zodiac is based on astrology so the month you were born in with the position of the sun in the sky, determines your more emotional persona, much like your moon sign. Another way of looking up more information about the month you were born in, click on the month of your birth under the grid below. Remember: your “secret animal” persona exemplifies many traits you wish you could show others..

Secret Persona

Based on your TIME OF BIRTH, your secret animal is thought to be a person’s “secret persona” or your truest representation, since this animal is determined by the smallest denominator: a person’s birth hour. This animal represents the person you are but, that you prevent the rest of the world from knowing about.

The Chinese Zodiac is based on astrology so those 2-hour increments of time coincide with the position of the sun in the sky, not the time on your local clock. Remember: The sun’s position isn’t lead by daylight savings time or Greenwich mean time so be sure you’re calculating your birth time accurately or you may end up with the wrong secret animal.

The Five Personalities

In psychology, the Big Five personality traits are five broad domains or dimensions of personality that are used to describe human personality. The theory based on the Big Five factors is called the Five Factor Model(FFM). The Big Five factors are:

Openness: (inventive/curious vs. consistent/cautious). Appreciation for art, emotion, adventure, unusual ideas, curiosity, and variety of experience. Openness reflects the degree of intellectual curiosity, creativity and a preference for novelty and variety. Some disagreement remains about how to interpret the openness factor, which is sometimes called “intellect” rather than openness to experience.

Conscientiousness: (efficient/organized vs. easy-going/careless). A tendency to show self-discipline, act dutifully, and aim for achievement; planned rather than spontaneous behavior; organized, and dependable.

Extroversion: (outgoing/energetic vs. solitary/reserved). Energy, positive emotions, urgency, assertiveness, sociability and the tendency to seek stimulation in the company of others, and talkativeness.

Agreeableness: (friendly/compassionate vs. cold/unkind). A tendency to be compassionate and cooperative rather than suspicious and antagonistic towards others.

Neurotic: (sensitive/nervous vs. secure/confident). The tendency to experience unpleasant emotions easily, such as anger, anxiety, depression, or vulnerability. Neurotic also refers to the degree of emotional stability and impulse control, and is sometimes referred by its low pole – “emotional stability”.

The Big Five model is a comprehensive, empirical, data-driven research finding. Identifying the traits and structure of human personality has been one of the most fundamental goals in all of psychology. The five broad factors were discovered and defined by several independent sets of researchers. These researchers began by studying known personality traits and then factor-analyzing hundreds of measures of these traits (in self-report and questionnaire data, peer ratings, and objective measures from experimental settings) in order to find the underlying factors of personality.
