Fairy

These mystical creatures usually indicate your wishes will come to fruition when you least expect it. This phrase tends to encompass the vast array of elves, pixies, banshees, wood nymphs, nature spirits, elemental fairies, birth fairies and earth lights that roam the earth in search of fun, adventure, mischief and work as our guides and protectors. Whatever your belief in these nymphs of nature, within your dreams they are often associated with our own spiritual consciousness and our perspective towards nature, human behavior and the aspects of good and evil. Mischief and trouble can often be an indicator of the presence of these fantasy creatures in your dreams. Fun and practical jokes are the norm when you dream of these curious creatures or dreams of wish fulfillment are also a reason for dreaming of fairies. Are they helping you or causing havoc in your life? Do they indicate that they are here to help you in your dream or trick you? Be cautious of those around you who say one thing yet do another. See also Celtic Fairies.

Falcon

Proud, aggressive and powerful, this sacred bird is a natural born leader. These birds are symbolic of clear judgment. Falcons are revered and respected for their sharp eyesight, precision of movement and speed in flight. Dreams of a falcon are dreams of pride. These animals are fierce predators who strike at a moment’s notice as they take action in whatever must be done. They fly above and associate our connection between heaven and earth. In many cultures they are a symbol of the soul, as well as our conscious mind. Therefore, dreams of a falcon can show us our own personal connection between our conscious and unconscious mind. In flight, their outstretched wings show us the freedom we desire, as they glide over the earth expressing our unlimited possibilites we see in them.

Falling

When we fall in our dreams it most often means we have lost control with some situation in our life. Falling in our dream is a way our unconscious communicates with our conscious to let us know that something needs to be paid attention to in our lives.

Losing Balance: suggests that the problem lays within you. You are not stable at this moment and need grounding in your life. You need to find ways to become more confident with people and with yourself.

Pushed: If somebody pushed you to your death, this implies that somebody might be pushing you overboard mentally. If you are working too hard at work and don’t think you can keep up you might experience a dream of this nature. It’s also quite possible that you might be pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion. Did you know who pushed you? If you know, then the answer is right in front of you.

Location: Remembering the location in your dream can be quite rewarding when it comes to finding the true meaning. If the location is familiar to you then its quite possible that this is the place that is causing you distress.

Losing Grip: then falling to your death in your dream is a horrible feeling. This means that you are not confident with yourself in difficult situations. Usually there is an issue with a relationship. You may feel that your partner may have the upper hand on you and it is eating away on your conscious. Try and recall where in your life that you may have lost control.

Holding On: for dear life in your dream suggests that you are trying your best to fix a situation you may have no control over. This can either be with your relationship, friends or your family.

People: who were with you when you where falling may be the people causing your stress. If you fall with people you recognize then it suggest that they are in the same situation as them.

Remembering How You Fell: on the ground can suggest what needs to be fixed in your life. If you fell on your back implies that you need more support in your life. If you fell on your hands means that you need more of a hand with people that are close to you. If you fell in water means that you are emotionally breaking down and need to address your problem.

Slipping: from a very high surface and falling to your death suggests that you will eventually “slip up” in a particular situation that will cause emotional distress.

Somebody Help: If you dream where you are ready to fall and somebody saved you, this suggests that somebody will help you out of a tough situation that you are in.

Common symbol for lack of emotional support – uncertainty about the future: “we don’t know where we are going to land.” If you dream you are falling but you are not frightened or harmed – shows that you will meet with adversity but overcome it with ease. If the fall greatly frightens you – then you will under go a major struggle in life. If you are injured in the fall – you will lose many friends. The common dream of falling into blackness or nothingness is more closely associated with stress, anxiety or fear in your waking life. Often the dreamer will jolt awake from this dream. It is most important to remain calm. It is important to try and remember what caused the fall, as this often holds the clue as to what is troubling the dreamer.

Family

If you dream of a large family this means that your fortunes in life are looking up, but if the family is unhappy or bickering it will denote the opposite for you. It would mean the same if the family is an animal family. If the family is very sad expect some adverse reactions in your financial structure. The family members in our dream each have a meaning. Seeing an aunt (on your mother’s side) suggests a family connection can help you – (on your father’s side) suggests your lack of patience. So try harder to have more patience, in general in your waking life. Seeing a brother, who is older, suggests you are about to do something brave. A younger one suggests an argument. If a brother is behaving badly in your dream, then you are in store for some good luck. Seeing a cousin from any side, and your worries will fade away. Seeing a daughter is a sign of important news. If she does not behave well, this signifies an unsettled future ahead. Dreaming of your father and it suggests you take advice from someone older. If he is healthy, you will benefit from someone’s support. If he is not well, you must stop losing faith in yourself. Grandparents are symbols of protection and security. If you see yourself with a husband, and you are single, the a serious argument may occur. If you dream of your own husband, the manner in which you treat him in your dream, indicated the manner of respect you have for him. Dreaming of someone else’s husband and this suggests you are not taking your relationship seriously enough. Seeing your own mother can indicate that you are having a relationship issue with your partner. Seeing your mother crying and it suggests your anxiety about something. If you are arguing with her, then a new friend is soon to come along. For a man to see his sister suggests emotional security, for a woman, a domestic dispute. To see your son in your dreams suggests success.

 Fantasy Creatures
From the earliest period of man’s existence, he has used stories to explain things he could not understand. Before these mysteries and fables were translated to paper, they were passed down through generations by word of mouth. Storytelling is one of the most ancient forms of communication there is. The myths and legends of warriors, the unexplained events in the day and night sky, the changing of the weather and landscapes were all passed down through the spoken word. Along with that would be the embellishments, attempts to explain the unexplained and the belief that nature was watching, guiding, protecting and sometimes attacking crops, tribes and land. Across all cultures, civilizations and tribes, man would validate unexplained events by the fantastical creatures from legends past. Here are the most popular in dream cultures:

Angels Centaur Devil
Dragon Fairy Ghost
Giant Griffin Mermaid
Phoenix Unicorn Valkyrie
Vampire Werewolf Zombie

Fire

A fire personality is considered a positive fire person is strong, courageous and bold, dramatic and passionate in all areas within ourselves. How much control you have over the fire in your dreams can indicate how much control we have in life. What is burning in your dream. This can show you what your fears are in waking life. Fire can be warm and comforting or dangerous and unpredictable.

Fire that is under your control in a dream can show you how empowered you are. Tiny flames, as from a candle can indicate spiritual progress. The flame of a candle acts as a “self object”. A self object is an object that is a reflection of our self, a reflection upon which we can act. The candle reflects the spiritual and ethical changes we would like to bring about in ourselves. It burns as a reminder and symbol of our desires. Sometimes we have to hand our dreams over to a force more powerful than we are. 1. The spark of a flame or fire can indicate the spark of your creativity. Light is illuminating, especially controlled light. 2. Smoke is a by-product of fire and in a dream can mean that we are being distracted or can’t see our way clearly. It can also become suffocating. This can be trying to bring to your attention how you are being suffocated in a relationship or overwhelmed at work. 3. A fire is also a complex omen in a dream and must be interpreted in light of the actions connected with it. To see a house burning down in a dream is the warning that a close relative needs help from you desperately. If the fire burns you, you will have bad luck, if not, then you will have good luck. A small fire in the fireplace shows contentment in the dreamer, but if you stir it with a poker you will soon have a romantic adventure. If you manage to put out a destructive fire then you will overcome the obstacles in your path of life.

Feather

Dreaming of feathers can have as many interpretations as there are feathers, depending on their actions, their colors, the type of bird that furnished them and where they were found. Try correlating all the know factors to glean the real answer from your dream. Generally though, A dream of many feathers floating in the air denotes a mighty stroke of good luck to your finances, while ornamental feathers denote an increase in social affairs; if you brush them off, you will have many small joys. Standing for ascendance, flight, communication with the spirit world and the element of air, feathers have always been associated with a higher realm.

Native Shaman use feathers for cleansing a space, wafting incense upwards so their prayers could reach there deities faster and as a tool for helping the soul to become lighter, so that it may transcend easier!

The eagle feather is the most valuable of all feathers and is seen as a sacred symbol by Native American tribes.

Feet

Again, the interpretation of feet depend on the action in the dream. Generally speaking: Washing the feet denotes freedom from worry, itching feet means you will walk on new land (travel), to see a strangers feet means you will meet someone new, hurting feet denote family problems, cold feet denote a reluctance to go through with something, losing your feet shows unexpected problems, children’s feet bring small worries, large feet shows that you have good health, small feet brings many small worries.

Fire

Fire represents traits of physical strength, force, courage, desire, initiative, fertility, passion, purification and rejuvenation. It represents both light and heat. (see above) Also see Fire element

Fish

Fish in your dreams can symbolize fertility or that good luck is waiting to be caught. These mysterious creatures of the deep captured Jung’s attention, as he saw them as unexpressed wishes that swim deep in clear water through our subconscious mind. Seeing fish in dark waters is more of an indicator of fears. Dreaming about a school or group of fish are often dreams associated with a group consciousness or the way people think in a group. Dead fish floating in the sea or lake represent failure or disappointment. The size of the body of water represents the size of the disappointment. When there is a fish net in the dream, it could be about a fear of being caught. If you are fishing it could be a dream about bringing something to the surface that otherwise would stay hidden. Perhaps a secret or emotion you keep “deep inside”. Fish scales are a sign of good luck, even more so, when they are not connected to the fish.

Five Platonic Solids: (see Platonic Solids)

Fleur De Lys: (see Symbols)

Any symbol in a dream, must be looked at within the context of that dream. As symbols have many different meanings, it is best to discern how to interpret your dream by trying to understanding the connection between the symbol and it’s dream meaning. Fleur de lys is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means flower, and lis means lily) or iris that is used as a decorative design or symbol especially in French heraldry. It is a symbol of purity and has been associated with the dove and the Virgin Mary. It is a prominent symbol in the Church of Mary Magdalene.

Floating

If you have ever floated in water, you can remember the feeling of letting go. Destressing or losing track of time and the space around you. If you are floating in water in your dream, it often represents a escapism, either from a negative or uncertain situation that you are in, yet it also shows that you are keeping your composure and staying strong in your situation as you learn how to handle your emotions associated with the situation. To dream of seeing an object floating in water represents some area of your life that can’t fail despite negativity or uncertainty. This is an aspect of your personality that is always reliable. It is your possibilities, ideas, or action that are always there for you to depend on. When dreaming of seeing a boat floating on water, this represents navigating uncertainty or negative situations you are steering clear of. It could also be your attempt to confront these issues. floating in the air represents the freedom to do what you want, while doing nothing at all. This is your freedom in standby or hovering mode. “Floating through life”. If you dream of an object floating by, this may represent ideas or possibilities that are creative resources at the ready.

Flood

Floods are simply water. As water is a pure representation of our emotions, a flood is symbolic of emotional overload. Any flood waters can be destructive, yet clearing (the positive/negative – yin/yang effect). Floods represent our lose of control. Gentle flooding can denote approaching difficulties if not you do not pay attention to the matter at hand. Flooding that is unexpected can create the “flooding of our emotions”. Water that is raging and/or muddy denotes the unclear and emotional anger that fills your dream (and perhaps your waking life?) as well as the tribulations of life. If the water does not drown you, you will eventually overcome your adversities. If you are swept away by the flood, then that is a warning of deep emotional upset that overcomes you or “takes you away”.

Floor

Represents your base, your support, the thing that supports you so you can walk through your house (life), and anything you dream concerning a floor must be considered in that manner in relationship with the rest of your dream. If you are cleaning, polishing, shining, repairing, or in some manner improving your floor is an omen that foretells of success in your endeavors to gain in the business world or to improve your standard of living. A slanted floor foretells that you are deviating too far from your original plans and that is not conducive to attaining your goals.

Flower

Flowers represent positive messages. They are fragrant, colorful and alluring. All traits that we admire in our waking life and represent in our dream life. Dreaming of a single flower or a group of flowers can represent a single, special person in your life or if you are given the single flower, you are seen as special and unique. A group of flowers received can represent an abundance of good luck. Giving a bouquet of flowers represent your security in yourself and the power in the selfless act of giving. Flowers are often associated with pleasures, beauty, giving, receiving, and relaxation. Are the flowers wilting or dying? This could be an indicator that you are neglecting someone or something and that they are falling apart. Flowers are connected to giving, love and expressing your feelings. Do you give the flowers or do you receive them? How does it make you feel? See also: Flower RemediesHealing Power of FlowersColor of FlowersBridging the Gap with Flower Remedies.

Flower of Life: (see Symbols)

Any symbol in a dream, must be looked at within the context of that dream. As symbols have many different meanings, it is best to discern how to interpret your dream by trying to understanding the connection between the symbol and it’s dream meaning. The Flower of Life is a name for a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles. This figure, used as a decorative motif since ancient times, forms a flower-like pattern with the symmetrical structure of a hexagon. It can be found in the Golden Temple of Amristsar, in the Buddhist Temple of Ajanta and the Cordoba in Marrakech. This seemingly simple design of circles has had profound impact on history due to it Sacred Geometry. For within this circle can be found the Kabbahlah’s Tree of Life, Metatron’s Cube and the Five Platonic Solids.

Fly (insect)

To have many annoying flys around you foretells of petty problems and quarrels with your relatives that amount to nothing more then aggravation.

Flying

Metaphor of personal power in dreams. Flying to escape a pursuer suggests confidence in one’s ability to avoid, or out maneuver, fears and problems in our life. Difficulty gaining elevation (we have to “bounce” off the ground, or fly around obstacles), suggests doubts about our ability to reach a destination. Fears of landing reflect uncertainty about the future; we don’t know “where we will land.” Dreams of soaring unfettered above the Earth reflect feelings of empowerment. We are confident in our ability to reach any destination, and feel on top of the world. If you dream you are flying so high that you can actually touch the moon and stars this portends many different types of global disaster that you may soon hear of. If you fly high with black wings you are warned that you are headed for a let down of magnitude. Flying dreams are normally a good omen and if the flight is pleasant, with no worries and anxieties, you can look for happiness and plenty to follow.

Food

Metaphysically, food represents the nourishing aspect of our lives. It is what we “take in” to our bodies (and lives) which bring us nourishment along with fulfillment. Therefore, the type of food has much to do with our central belief system and how we “see food”. Traditional Asian and Indian cultures see food as medicine. It is the medicinal properties of foods along with their “personalities” that either feed our soul or drain our body of vital energy. There are many Universal elements of certain foods, such as apples or lemons and then there are other foods that have very diverse interpretations in dreams. Below you will find a list of many of the common and not-so-common foods that make up our dreams!

Fork (in the road)

If the dreamer gets to a fork in the road there is an important decision that must be made. Which way will you choose and why will you choose it? What is the deciding factor? In dreams as in life, we are sometimes forced to make a decision, right or otherwise. But as in our waking life, we can always change our decision and opt for the positive choice.

Fountain

Water is the power of life. It is soft and subtle, yet can change a landscape. A fountain is an expression of prosperity, fertility and luck. If the fountain you dream of drying up or not working, it can indicate poor nourishment, a symbol of a financial dry spell or the lack of “flow” in your life. An expressive, beautiful fountain can indicate the joy of abundance, free flowing ideas and the purity of nature.

Four Leaf Clover

Dreaming of a four leaf clover is a symbol of luck. The shamrock had been seen as sacred in the pre-Christian days in Ireland. Due to its green color and overall shape, many viewed it as representing rebirth and eternal life. Christians also viewed the four-leaf clover as lucky for its resemblance to the cross. Some even believe that the fourth leaf symbolizes the Grace of God. The Irish often say that the green hills of the Emerald Isle (Ireland) contain more four-leaf clovers than anywhere else. Hence, the “luck of the Irish.”.
