Cordyceps Sinensis Capsules
Cordyceps Sinensis Hyphas is a famous and costly traditional Chinese medicine. It is created when a type of fungus parasitizes the larvae of the Chongcao Bat Moth and forms a fungus/larva composite body. The larva forms a cocoon in the winter and hibernates in the ground. Because the fruiting body of the fungus emerges from the head of the larva in the summertime and resembles a grass sprout, this medicine?s Chinese name means roughly ?winter-insect, summer grass.? In recent years, medical researchers have conducted many studies of Cordyceps Sinensis, and some new discoveries have further expanded its scope as a curative agent.
Cordyceps Sinensis Hyphas actions help to relax the bronchia and strengthen the adrenal glands. Highly effective at replenishing the essence and strengthening the body. Herbology is the study of plants, herbs, minerals and supplements used in the growing, cultivating and harvesting of the natural world. Holistically, we use natural plants or plant-based substances to treat a wide range of illness and disease in order to enhance the functioning of the body's system. Herbs are prescribed by a range of practitioners, from naturopaths to acupuncturists to holistic practitioners. For more than 5000 years, herbal medicine has long been the apothecary of the world. Folklore and ancient recipes have been past down for centuries.
Mayan, Ayurvedic, Tibetan and Chinese cultures have been developing, improving and perfecting health-promoting herbal recipes. More than 80,000 herbal prescriptions are recorded, whose precise quantities and proportions are crucial to their efficacy. Nowadays, research studies are being done on some of these herbs, herbal combinations and formulas. Many of today's wonder drugs were derived from traditional herbal formulations.
One of the characteristics of Asian herbology is that most herbs are used in
prescriptions with 3 or more additional herbs. There are sometimes 10 or more herbs in a single prescription. Many assistant herbs cooperate with a major ingredient (or
chief herb) in a combination to produce a better effect on one particular organ or
condition. The chief herb "rules" the prescription and has the primary effect on the dis-eased condition. The assistant herbs help to synergistically increase the effect of the chief herb, to treat an illness, as well as, "supervise" the function of other herbs.
The medicinal benefits of herbs have been recorded for centuries. Egyptian, Roman, Native American, Chinese, Tibetan, Mayan and Hebrews alike, all have their herbal materia medica of recorded remedies and cures. Many herbs contain powerful ingredients that, if used correctly, can help heal the body. By using herbs in their complete form, the body's healing process utilizes a balance of the ingredients provided by mother nature.
Many herbs are extremely potent. Herbs must be used appropriately. Therefore, herbs must be use with respect and proper knowledge because overuse of certain herbs can be deadly! It is also important to note that since herbs contain active ingredients, be aware that some elements may interact negatively with prescribed medications! Therefore, your healthcare professional must be notified if you have any questions about safety. and As a general rule: some herbs in any form, should not be taken for more than seven days at a time. Others herbs are more beneficial with time. The fresh leaves, bark, and roots of herbs can be used in their natural form or can be found in dried form and used in capsules, tablets, tinctures, essential oils, powders, creams, lotions, and salves.
Herbal formulas can be taken in a variety of ways.
*You may be prescribed raw herbs. Steep these herbs as teas in order to release their healing properties. Although Andrew refers to the herb prescriptions as "tea," some people find the taste to be a little less
than "delicious."
*Pills and Capsules -These are one form. These are herbs ground into powder. Herbal formulas tend to be created for a single problem or nest of related problems and their specific pattern of disharmony.
*Tinctures -Herbal remedies are also prescribed in tincture form and are the previously fresh herb in well preserved, highly concentrated form. This liquid, as well as, concentrated forms of extracted herbs are preserved in their freshest form.
*Essence -Steam distillation or cold pressing results in herbs as essential oils.
*Poultice are macerated or chopped herbs that are placed directly on the skin and a hot, moist bandage is applied.
*Infusions are used when you are working with the most delicate part of the herb-the leaves flowers, fruits and seeds. Infusion time can be approximately 3-5 minutes.
*Decoctions are used to extract the tougher part of the herb-bark, berries and roots. Decoction time can be between 45 minutes to 90 minutes.
Herbal medicine is a natural and healing form of therapy that can be very beneficial, long term. There are common sense precautions that
must be take when using herbal medicine internally.
*Never take herbal medicine internally if you are nursing or pregnant.
*If unusual symptoms occur, stop taking the formula and usually
symptoms will disappear rather quickly.
*When also on prescribed Western drugs, great care should be taken.
Anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics can upset the stomach and
irritate the intestinal tract. Herbal formulas can tax the digestive
tract. Do not take herbal medicine and anti-
inflammatories/antibiotics together at the same time.
*Blood thinners prevent clots from forming in the blood vessels.
These are very strong western drugs that must be monitored carefully.
Drugs used to thin the blood, often interfere with herbs for trauma,
since they both have the same action. The combination can interfere
with western drugs and may cause dizziness or fainting. Do not take
blood thinning herbal medicine with western blood thinners.
* Heart medications and herbs used for trauma both effect the
circulation of blood. Although these herbs have a different method of
action, in conjunction with heart medication, there can be unwanted
side effects.
*Seizure medications work on brain function and in conjunction with herbs, should not be taken at the same time and should only
be done under supervision.
1. The first step to building your natural medicine chest is to write down exactly what you need on a regular basis and what you need on an occasional basis. A multivitamin, calcium supplement (if you're a woman over 35), extra folic acid (if you are hoping to get pregnant), valerian root, if you have occasional trouble sleeping, white willow bark if you need something for headaches on occasion arnica for those times
when you need a natural pain reliever. This is how you stock your natural medicine
chest.
2. Write down your needs based on conditions or symptoms, what has worked for you,
what you need to look into or ask your doctor about, and anything else
you can think of. Remember you can include tinctures, capsules, pills both herbal and homeopathic.
3. You can also base your decisions on the seasonal calendar. Herbs for seasonal healing are an important element in deciding just what is necessary at the time.
Each season has it's own particular beneficial herbs for healing particular conditions during that time period. Remember, this is also geared towards the region of the world you live in.
For a reference of current seasonal herbs to use, see this page.
4. If you're trying to "go herbal" with your medicine,
chest, discuss any conditions you have with your acupuncturist, naturopath or holistic practitioner. Be advised that asking your allopathic doctor probably does not have the knowledge about herbs that a holistic practitioner has.
Some physicians dislike the idea of herbal remedies, primarily because of patients who use them without the proper information or precautions. A healer of any kind, be them holistic or allopathic should be searching for the power in the greater good. Many
doctors now try to include those options for their
patients. And if a doctor who is open to natural remedies
advises against it, trust that judgment. Work with the practitioner on contraindications for the herb when you are considering taking them with allopathic medicine. There could very well be side effects. So when you've decided what your needs are, see your doctor, then decide
which remedies you will need to take on a daily basis for
an extended period of time.
5. Doses are always a question and what herbal remedies are good for
which conditions, but another step in the natural health
process is to decide exactly how much of each item you
need. Check our Western Materia Medica (below) for the safe and trustworthy information you need.
Herbal medicine is the best alternative therapy when it comes to finding a substitute for allopathic drugs. The benefits are tremendous. Side effects are minimal.
Caution should be used when taking herbal medicine with allopathic drugs. Please see Taking Herbs Internally for simple guidelines.
Certain herbs can be very beneficial during particular seasons based on their mechanism of action and their healing properties. As the seasons change, it is a great idea to create a seasonal medicine chest with herbs that you can really utilize during that period. You will find that herbs in many forms can be both practical and versatile. Below are considerations for each season.
Spring is the season of new beginnings and rebirth. Using herbs to tonify and detox the liver and gallbladder are recommended. Consider making a Spring Herbal Medicine Chest with milk thistle, dandelion and nettle. You can benefit by having Spring Essential Oils such as jasmine, neroli and patchouli.
Summer is the high season of greatest Yang and activity is complemented by the hot fun-filled days at the beach and warm, delightful nights enjoyed outdoors. We tend to overdue in summer..too much sun, physical activities and food. Using herbs to tonify the heart, intestines and stomach are recommended. Consider making a Summer Herbal Medicine Chest with basil, elderflower and chamomile. You can benefit by having Summer Essential Oils such as tea tree, lavender and eucalyptus.
Fall is the time of gathering and harvesting in preparation for the next season. Using herbs to tonify the lungs and large intestines is recommended. With the changing of light and the dropping of temperatures, consider making a Fall Herbal Medicine Chest with astragalus, calendula and ginseng. You can benefit by having Fall Essential Oils such as bergamont, cedarwood and clove.
Winter is the time for rest and replenishing. It is the season of greatest Yin and should be observed with peaceful tranquility. Using herbs to tonify the kidneys and urinary bladder is recommended. Consider making a Winter Herbal Medicine Chest with sage, mullein and garlic. You can benefit by having Winter Essential Oils such as cinnamon, ginger and peppermint.
