Herbs have been apart of humanity since the dawn of time in the form
of food and is viewed as medicine. One-fourth of allopathic medicines
are still derived from plants or are synthetic copies of substances
originally identified in nature. After centuries of use, herbs
continue to play a vital role in promoting health in modern times.
The power of Green Whole Foods is essential for all day energy,
greater focus under stress, sense of well-being, strengthened immune
system, fewer food cravings and optimum synergistic balance of
essential nutrients for total health. Green whole foods are usually a
powder that contain antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, amino acids,
active enzymes, bioflavinoids, chlorophyll and other phytonutrients
necessary for optimal cellular metabolism, repair and protection!
These ingredients contain the most powerful combination of nutrients
ever known in any grain, herb or food. They contain almost all of the
vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes necessary for the human
diet, plus chlorophyll.
There are many green whole foods on the market today. They are all
geared toward increasing your fiber and chlorophyll intake.
Additionally, there are several products that are specific to
increasing metabolic energy, cleansing and/or detoxing with the
addition of certain herbs for specific outcomes. Here is a list of
some of the most popular and beneficial ingredients in the majority
of these products:
Spirulina Blue Green Algae: Spirulina possesses a complete protein richer than steak, abundant organically complex minerals, a wide variety of essential vitamins, and many beneficial enzymes. Spirulina is more than just a food. As with Chlorella it has been shown to be valuable with almost every aspect of health. These necessities are bio-available which means that they are easily assimilated throughout the digestive tract, giving instant access to vital nutrients.Because of algae's high chlorophyll and high nutritional content it is an excellent part of a cleansing program.
Chlorella Green Algae: Chlorella's tough cell wall protects the valuable nucleus inside. When it is harvested it is instantly dried and the cell walls are gently cracked open. The nutrients inside retain full potency. Once in your body, the cracked open cells release their valuable nutrients. Because it is so easy to digest, your cells get the full benefit of this nutritional powerhouse. These necessities are bio-available which means that they are easily assimilated throughout the digestive tract, giving instant access to vital nutrients. The algae provides intestinal nourishment and has a soothing and healing effect on the mucous lining. It works to detoxify and purify our system.
Barley Grass and Wheat Grass: Eating barley and wheat grass is like eating a plate of green vegetables. These cereal grasses, are harvested young and are ecologically grown in nutrient rich soil. They are approximately 25% protein and contains all the essential amino acids, concentrated vitamins, minerals and fiber. They have been shown to increase our overall health by reducing intestinal putrefaction and maintaining healthy blood another important component of cleansing.
Klamath Lake Blue Green Algae: This remarkable plant grows 100% organically in the Upper Klamath Lake of Oregon. Blue Green Algae has more protein and chlorophyll by weight than any other plant or animal on earth. Klamath Lake algae is considered to be the most nutrient rich of the algaes.
Psyllium Husks: A natural plant source of dietary fiber essential for the proper functioning of the digestive system. Fiber significantly lowers total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels.
Lecithin: Lecithin is produced naturally and is one of the main substances that digests cholesterol in the human body. Lecithin supports the liver and aids in the metabolism of fat. Lecithin is used to strengthen the heart as it clears the blood vessels of cholesterol. It also useful as part of a weight loss programs to help dissolve fat.
Buckthorn Bark: Acts on the liver, gallbladder, blood and intestines. Has a stimulating effect on the bile and conditions of the, liver, gallbladder and lower bowels; does not gripe and keeps the bowels regular without irritation.
Burdock: Supports the blood, kidneys and liver. A natural blood purifier which eliminates uric acid and excess waste material. Burdock is quite effective in treating dry and scaly skin disorders such as psoriasis, dandruff and eczema, also helps break sown calcification in joints.
Cascara Sagrada: Supports the colon, stomach, liver gallbladder and pancreas and is considered one of the very best and safest laxatives in the kingdom. Has an antibiotic effect on harmful bacteria in the intestine. Promotes peristalsis and tones relaxed digestive system muscles.
Dandelion: Acts to stimulate the liver and kidneys while absorbing toxins and soothing the digestive tract. It is an excellent blood purifier and helps to build up the blood. It has a mild laxative effect. This root is also higher in beta carotene than what is found in carrots.
Red Clover: A natural blood cleanser which is high in minerals and strengthening to the body. It is also soothing to the nerves and used for skin problems.
Milk Thistle Seed: Containing silybum marianum which has proven its ability to protect and rebuild the liver. The liver is a key organ in cleansing because it is involved in detoxifying the body and the digestion of fat.
Acidophilus: The normal, healthy colon contains "friendly" bacteria (85% lactobacillus and 15% coliform bacteria). It is the friendly bacterial flora found in yogurt and is essential to the digestive system. When these bacteria are not in balance, then the person may experience bloating, flatulence, constipation, and malabsorption of nutrients. Acidophilus taken as a dietary supplement may help to detoxify and to rebuild a balanced intestinal flora. It is used for the prevention of Candida as well as for treatment. Acidophilus aids the digestion and helps to replace the "friendly" intestinal flora.

When people find out that I am a hypnotherapist, they often ask if I can help them access their past lives. “Maybe” is all I can reply. I have been a clinical hypnotherapist for several years now, and have performed past life regressions on numerous occasions. I have even experienced one myself. However I am yet to be convinced that hypnosis can actually helps us remember a ‘real’ past life experience.
What I notice about most people’s details of their past lives is that the information usually comes straight from a history book. The details are usually things that are widely known. They may have been a soldier in the battle of Hastings, or painted pictures of Henry VIII. I have never heard people talk in foreign languages that were unknown to them, or different accents. I have never seen anyone demonstrate any ‘lost’ skills that they had in a past life.
Despite these warnings, people are still intrigued. In my mind the jury is still out as to whether we even have past lives. Many think that we do, which they are perfectly entitled to believe. I understand that to these people, they will see hypnosis as a possible way of assessing this missing time on earth, which can be comforting and therapeutic.
I experienced a past life regression several years ago. This was during my training as a clinical hypnotherapist. After being guided into trance, I was regressed backwards through my life, making me younger and younger. Eventually I was regressed back further, to a point before I was born.
I recalled being a hunter gatherer in a forest, providing for my family. I remember being aware of sporting a beard, and using a wooden spear, and bow and arrow. It was all very Robin Hood, but did seem quite ‘real’ at the time. I did not have to put any effort into these details, they just flowed into my mind. I simply relaxed my mind, and allowed these thought to come, no matter what they were. I do know that the subconscious part of the mind is very creative, and more than capable of making these sorts of details up, without any conscious effort at all. However I was still a little intrigued.
I was then took to the point just before dying in that life. I remember lying on the forest floor with a wound to my right shoulder, slowly dying. I knew I was dying, but was in no pain. I realised that I had been attacked by some animal that had horns or antlers, although I did not see this happen. As I led there staring up at the trees, I felt a sense of loneliness. I was dying on my own, without anyone to comfort me. I knew my family were not far away, but I could not go to them for comfort. This made me feel a tinge of sadness.
When I woke up, I was fairly convinced that I had experienced some memories from a past life of mine. It was so vivid, and so emotional. However as time passed, I became more sceptical, thinking that it is very possible that it was all fabricated by my subconscious mind, in order to satisfy what was expected of me during the session. This is very possible, but who knows?
I cannot say for sure whether hypnosis can help you access a past life, or even that we have had a past life. Perhaps this does not really matter. It was a worthwhile experience. I somehow felt a little wiser because of this. I remembered how lonely I felt as I stared upwards from the forest floor, yearning for the comfort of my family. This made me realise how precious people in your life are, and how I should not take people for granted. The experience of being a bearded hunter taught me this lesson several years ago, which I will never forget. To this day I bear this in mind, and I am grateful to him whoever or whatever he is.

For my boyfriend's birthday I went out and bought a ton of marbles, all different sizes, and sat down with a fine (FINE, FINE, FINE) permanent marker and wrote things on them. I wrote the day we meet, the funny sayings we have, I love you, our names, our silly nicknames, etc. He will look at them from time to time and he said that it really meant a lot to him to have me spend so much time on such small details for a gift. - Submitted by Jenny

This year for Valentine's Day I'm writing a fairy tale based on our relationship. I'm going to draw pictures and make it into a book by attaching all of the pages with ribbon. - Submitted by Andrea
Last year I received the most romantic gift from my boyfriend. It was a sculpted heart that he ordered from the web site - a big red heart with his love message inside. - Submitted by Dana
Buy your sweetheart a teddy bear and leave it on their bed with a little note saying: "You can hug me when _____ (write your name here) isn't here." My boyfriend did this for me and I cuddle up to my bear every night, in fact I can't sleep without it! - Submitted by S. Kregs
My boyfriend bought me the cutest stuffed animal and put it in the driver's seat of my car with the seatbelt strapped around it. - Submitted by Princess Angel
For our anniversary, I made my boyfriend a book. I got a 1 inch, 3 ring binder (a photo album could also work) and I got clear plastic folders to stick in the binder. On 100 pieces of computer paper I wrote reasons why I love him. I had 100 reasons in all and on each page was a different reason and a picture of us. I decorated the front with stickers and little pictures of me. He loved it and looks at it all the time. Another idea is to put on the back of the pages quotes or song lyrics that fit your relationship. - Submitted by Jessica
Make ten envelopes with different things written on the outside (like "When You Miss Me" or "When You're Sad") and put something appropriate in each one. Then give them all at once to your boyfriend and make him wait until he's feeling those certain ways to open them. It's pretty funny to watch them get impatient! - Submitted by Sarah Anne
Make your own massage oil. Buy some sweet almond oil at the grocery store, and some of your favorite essential oils (recipes all over the internet). Mix them together and pour into a nifty little 4 oz bottle (preferably colored glass) and give your sweetie a homemade, edible massage. The effort will truly be appreciated! - Submitted by Jennifer Hauserman
A special friend of mine gave me a gift one Christmas that I will always remember. In the box was a velvet bag containing a beautiful wooden hand mirror. With the mirror was a note saying, "I wanted to give you the most beautiful thing in the world for Christmas. I looked and looked, but could not find anything more beautiful than you." Talk about heart melting romance! - Submitted by Britt
My wife and I have been married for three years. Every year I have followed the tradition of: 1 year = paper, 2 years = cotton, 3 years = leather, and so on. On our first anniversary I got her airplane tickets (paper) to a quiet beach in Florida. She had no clue we were going. At 7:00 in the morning on a Saturday I woke her up and gave her an anniversary card and in it was her gift. As you can imagine she was in shock, crying, and jumping up and down with joy. We only went for two days, but it was nice. For our second anniversary I did something a little more difficult. I got her cotton underwear. But I had to do more then give it to her in a gift box. So, I bought 8 blank cards and in each card I wrote a clue or a riddle or a puzzle for her. They all lead her to a store or a business in our town. The hard part was getting people in the store to play along. When she arrived at the store the person working had to give her the next clue. I also had a little gift waiting at each store (for example, a CD at the music store). She loved it! - Submitted by Matt C.
You know the saying: "If it is carved in stone it must be true". Find a stone and carve a little message in it such as: "I Love You Andrea" or "I love You Bob", and then give it to your honey.
- Submitted by Brian Stettler
My boyfriend had to go across the country to a speech competition, so I decided to make him a care package. I got a small box and put in a luv pop for him when "he needs a little loving", a penny "for good luck", a paper star I made because "no matter how he does, he'll always be my shining star", a stone with "love" on it so he will be reminded that he's loved, a picture of us together, a phone card, and a love letter for each day that he's gone. I sprayed the box with my perfume, taped it shut, and made him promise he wouldn't open it until he was on the plane. He loved it! - Submitted by Emily
For my boyfriend's birthday my friends and I blew up a bunch of balloons and I wrote something that I liked about him on each balloon. At 5:00 in the morning on the day of his birthday I put the balloons in the back seat of his car with his presents on the front! He loved it and said that no one has ever done anything that nice for him! - Submitted by Kylie
Gather pictures of your wife/girlfriend/boyfriend from the first day you saw them, to the now and make a card using a color copier. (Be sure to use at least one wedding picture if married.) Make sure the card is covered with pics inside and out. Inside the card write: "I'd do it ALL over again!". This would also work with a small photo album. - Submitted by Mr.Romance
Get a shoe box and leave it blank on the outside. Decorate the inside with whatever you want, but don't forget to put a picture of you on the bottom side of the lid so when he opens it she will see your picture. Then in the bottom write a note telling him that this box is full of blown kisses that he can take out and use when ever he feels blue. - Submitted by Shar Czerwonka
Make her a jigsaw puzzle. You will need to get a picture of the two of you enlarged, and a piece of 1/4" wood the same size as the picture. I downloaded a jigsaw puzzle creation program and used it to get a template for the pieces. Trace the pieces on the wood and cut them out on a jigsaw. Then glue the picture on and use a razor to cut the picture to match the pieces. - Submitted by QM
Buy her a teddy bear and spray it with your cologne, now she can be reminded of you whenever she smells it. - Submitted by Pauline

A Famous physician once said that laughter is the best medicine.
“Doctor, I can’t stop singing Diamonds are a girls best friend.”
“That sounds like Shirley Bassey Syndrome.”
“Is it common?” “Its Not Unusual...”
The medical profession is quite tickled by the concept of Laughter as
medicine. New research seems to be endorsing the ancient wisdom that
laughter is jolly good medicine!
This idea that the mind can control the body is not a new one. So it would logically follow that your thoughts become your personal reality.
Some people are satisfied having enough health to live comfortably, while others want to break world records.
Some are willing to work hard, while others hope it will fall into their lap like winning the lottery...
Beyond The Secret
The movie-documentary, "The Secret," skillfully promotes the Law of Attraction and the idea that your thoughts become your reality. In other words -- the more you focus on what you really want in your life, the more likely it will manifest.
So if you are pessimistic, careless or naive, guess what you'll get...
Abundance in love, laughter and health is natural and desirable. If a
person is unhealthy when they could choose vibrant health, then they are
probably naive, or have some issue in their psyche that is blocking the
natural flow.
My own secret of abundant health recognizes that work is necessary,
but it makes the work easy. Finding enjoyable ways to stay healthy is the
key to a life of physical and spiritual abundance. (more about this later)
There is a saying: “If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got.”
As an adult, you make choices every day. If you are not satisfied with your health, you need to make different choices.
Good health is like having money in the bank - it is a matter of balance.
In these more enlightened days of easy access to information, it is now possible to make better informed choices that will enable you to halt or even reverse the deterioration in your health, step-by-step.
I found that in order to move forward, I had to make many changes, but as the saying goes: 'A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.'
Maybe this is your first or second or... step. Whether or not you've heard or read this kind of information before, I know from experience that it helps to be reminded from time to time, because we often get distracted
and forget what we need to be doing to stay healthy.
Healing requires change
A change of perspective or moving to a new location -- a holiday or a
change of habits -- further education -- a new job or hobby -- an exercise
routine or a change of diet and so on.
“Energy flows where attention goes.”
So if you focus more on detecting and healing the root cause, then you
can begin to improve your body and mind. This process allows you to
interact and have more fun, which is the ultimate reason for doing
anything.
Motivation
Very often people have the right MOTIVATION but the wrong
INFORMATION. A lot of busy people want better health, more time and
energy, but they don’t have the right information that will enable them to
get quick and long lasting results.
My own experience tells me that there are three basic steps to achieving
your goals – whether it’s better health, financial independence or anything
else.
1 Get the right information
2 Make the right plan
3 Take the right action
I discovered many health secrets after I decided to take responsibility and investigate the root cause and remedy for my own (incurable) ailments.
Following your 'inner joy'
This may sound like an overused cliché, but it is actually one of the main
keys to vibrant health. It all starts with a key question. Given that you
have free choice: "What is the most exciting thing that I could possibly be
doing right now to improve my health?"
Choices
If you have tried and failed using conventional methods, investigate alternative solutions. Talk to different health professionals. You can surf the Internet, visit alternative health forums or post a question.
What usually gets in the way of making improvements are busy
schedules, self-limiting beliefs and negative attitudes like skepticism, fear
and or a lack of self-esteem. So, maybe you need you may need
professional help to get the most inspired and results possible.
Take action
In order to by-pass the critic in your head, try asking that key question
(What is the most exciting thing...) before you fall asleep tonight. That
way, your inner possibilities can come forward into your conscious mind
without being filtered out.
Then, find a way to do that most exciting possibility. Ask yourself: “What
steps can I take to make it a reality?” Write them down as they come into
your head over the next few days, then go over the list and prioritize.
Determine what actions are the most important in moving toward your
goal. Find ways to dissolve self-limiting beliefs and attitudes so that you
can act upon your inner joy.
To follow your inner joy is to live holistically because you are acting with
more of your complete self. It lightens up your spirit, allowing you to
function at a higher level of consciousness.
Abundant health flows because you are in the natural flow of giving
service to others.
Here are some of the most important considerations:
1. Unresolved stress is the main reason why people become ill. Find out
how to manage stress in your body, home and work environment.
2. Take time to read -- It is the foundation of knowledge.
3. Incorporate regular fun activities into your daily routine.
4. Do one thing at a time (easier said than done).
6. Rest and play more often.
7.Take time to help strangers and friends -- It is the source of happiness.
8. Take time to give joyfully. Remember that everything you do, comes back on you.
9. Get a hobby if you don't already have one.
10. Model your career on your favourite role model.
11. Eat a variety of healthy foods.
12. Fasting in the Spring and Autumn gives your overworked digestion a
well-deserved rest.
13. Develop a deep sense of appreciation for the simple things in life.
14. Take time to laugh -- It unburdens a heavy heart.
And: “Always look on the bright side of life - lala-lala-lala-lala!”
“If life seems jolly rotten, there's something you've forgotten, and that's to
laugh and dance and smile and sing. If you feel down in the dumps, don't
be silly chumps, just purse your lips and whistle; that's the thing! ...”
Wishing you and yours the best of health!

Spiritual secrets are protected and concealed behind a wall of silence from the ridicule and contempt of the profane or uninitiated. The sacred can easily be eliminated when religion or government is ruled by the psychological manipulations of shame, fear, and guilt that support victimization and human denials, which historically perpetrate greed and domination. What is not understood is inevitably hated, mistrusted, and savagely destroyed such as the primary world religions brutally did to the of spirituality of the indigenous people of the Americas, the great Tantric sexual sects of India and Asia, Polynesian Paganism, and African Animism.
The American Black culture arrived in the United States enslaved and culturally raped. They were forced to give up their Spiritual Animism that was viewed as Devil Worship to become Protestants or Baptist Christians or die just as the Jews were forced in Europe by the Catholic Inquisition to become Catholics, loosing their core beliefs in order to survive or be burned as heretical witches.
The only way the black American could elevate himself over the course of the last 135 years was to completely identify with the white culture and loose all connection to their animistic religious roots. Sadly, there are many black Americans who are unconsciously angry that they were forced into Christianity and told that their African beliefs were barbaric and evil with a tendency to denigrate their own race.
The African cultures of the more tolerant Caribbean and South America countries retained their spiritual beliefs and synchronized their religion with not only Catholicism, but with the Caucasian race. The Christian based white culture blended with the African culturally there, while that did not occur in the spiritually and racially intolerant fundamentalist US. When a white master married a black slave he adopted her beliefs, which was not the case with US slave owners. The fact is that there is a happier black culture in terms of tolerant belief systems thriving for the most part as a collective race in the majority of Caribbean nations than there is the US per capita.
When government and society are ruled by a fear-based religion, a collective ignorance prevails, preventing the individuated experience or thought to exist. Secret societies raise suspicion and speculation among outsiders, and few individuals respect that the initiated members of such societies are guardians of ancient wisdom; in the same way a Catholic Priest or Jewish Rabbi has received their initiations.
We have entered a time in which the core ignorance that supports such fear is slowly being transformed into wisdom through its very painful cause in the highly visible War of Belief Systems.
A global desire to find spiritual experiences versus academically prescribed historical religious knowledge is at the forefront in the more sensory and informed modern world that is reforming itself through its own demise. The issue with this global spiritual quest for ‘reality’ is an absence of tools to achieve such spiritual experiences in a non-intellectual manner in order to truly gain a ‘feeling’ versus’ thinking’ experience.
Not everyone can go to more animistic societies such as India, Africa, the Amazon; and. even there find a sincere or even qualified teacher to deliver such guidelines. The 21st Century is a Fast Food and Internet world of immediate gratification where ‘Real Experiences’ with rich contemplative moments are nearly impossible to find. Nor, is such knowledge gained in an academic or scholarly world of literature – it is only gained through the ‘experience’ itself.

The holistic therapy of reflexology has been used over the years to promote physical health and wellbeing in many thousands of people from all walks of life, but there is also a subtler aspect to its benefits that can be applied to the more vulnerable amongst us, to expand awareness and enhance everyday living.
When a client of mine asked if she could bring her sister, who had learning disabilities, for a reflexology treatment with me, I was only too glad to concur. When the appointment day arrived, the young lady's mother accompanied her and explained to me that her daughter had been born with learning disabilities (she was now in her thirties) and that the only diagnosis that doctors had given her was that something probably went wrong during birth.
My client appeared in cheerful mood, did not appear nervous, but was unable to reply to my enquiries about her health and lifestyle. Her mother did this for me, telling me she was on the whole in good general health (apart from suffering from a condition called rosacea) and that one thing she constantly talked about was getting married! She loved to look at magazines where there were pictures of brides' dresses and related details and often imagined herself to be dressed in one. However, emotionally she was very detached from people, even her mother and two sisters.
During the treatment, she was unable to communicate to me any tender spots on her feet, which were very smooth & unlined, although I encountered several gritty areas especially on the head area and the pituitary and pineal glands. She did, however, say that she was enjoying it and loved the feeling of her feet being rubbed. I gave her an especially thorough post-treatment foot massage because of this. As they were about to leave, the young lady gave me a really big hug and thanked me for the time I had spent with her. I am quite used to this, but was a little surprised to see the look of astonishment on her mother's face.
The next day, her mother phoned me to say that she had never, ever, seen her daughter give anyone a hug - not even to her - and that was the reason for her amazement at her response to the treatment. She also told me that, during the evening, when her daughter had been sitting upstairs in her bedroom, dressed only in her underwear as she was accustomed to do every night, the mother had called up to her to let her know that she was going down to the shop to make a few purchases. Instead of the short ‘OK’ that she expected, the girl called down to her to wait a moment while she got dressed, and she would accompany her on the walk to the shop. This was so unusual that the mother could hardly believe her ears. The daughter came downstairs fully dressed, and walked to the shop and back with her, lacing her arm in her mother's on the way back. This may sound like a very small breakthrough to many people, but the mother was moved to tears while recounting this to me.
Reflexology treats all the organs of the body through the feet, but not only this - it clears blocked energy pathways throughout the body enabling organs and glands to function properly and in a holistic way. When a blockage is removed from one area, this in turn promotes the free flow of energy to a related area, and so on. It can show benefits to the physical body or, as in this case, to the emotional body so that the heart can stimulate the brain into alternative ways of thinking or behaving. The fact that a client cannot tell us what is felt during a treatment is therefore no indication as to the level of benefit that the treatment can bestow upon the mind, body and spirit.

Toxins invade our body everyday. It ranges from the foods that we eat to toxins in the atmosphere that are called antioxidants. There are a variety of pills and potions on the market that have a lot of fluff and boast results that seem very unrealistic.
However, flushing toxins from the body is not a quick fix, but an ongoing process to continually improve health and develop a healthy lifestyle. As long as we remain alive, toxins will affect us so we must find a product to help us to fight these dangerous pollutions to our body.
There are two easy ways to rid the body of toxins. One is by a foot detox patch or spa and the other is by alkalizing the body. A detox patch is easy because all you need to do is to attach the foot patch on the sole of the feet before retiring to bed at night and when you awake, the toxins will appear in the patch (it will turn an almost black color). This is a safe, natural, effective and recommended method of removing toxins from the body.
A detox foot spa is almost the same process except you may have to go to a holistic center or spa. Your feet are immersed in foot spa with the water mixed in a solution.
After the thirty-minute detox experience, the water is filled with toxins drawn from the body. Each substance is color coded to determine what part of the body the toxins came from. It is quite an eye-opening experience.
The other method is also safe. This requires the intake of a substance called energy green drink. The ingredients in this product help to flush the acids and toxins from the body to alkalize the body and restore health. Our body is naturally acidic, but the foods that we eat add to this acid to make us overacidic. Toxins and fat feed on this excess acid to make us sick and overweight.
The Energy Green drink is a natural remedy to detoxification and weight loss success. Alkaline foods supply us to with less toxicity and the energy green contains alkaline substances in the form of vitamins, vegetables, and fruits. This neutralizes the acid and toxins in our body to give us a more balanced and healthy body.
These are the easiest, most unobtrusive ways to assist your body in the removal of pollutants that invade our bodies on a daily basis; and also from the health-repressive toxicity accumulations that impede our bodies from achieving the true wellness we really should be experiencing. A toxic body (with an overburdened liver and a sluggish and congested lymphatic system) simply cannot maintain the normal cleansing performance required to maintain optimal health. Also, in addition to the over abundance of naturally-occurring toxins, it is estimated that well over 400 synthetic chemicals and other man-made toxins permeate the body of the average individual today. So a lot of us are walking around full of toxins without being aware of it. We must not wait until we get sick to take control of our bodies. Now is the time to flush the body and revitalize our health. You owe it to yourself.

Part of self growth and developing self-knowledge involves learning to
express the feelings, ideas and thoughts you are having. To describe how you
are feeling is a challenge given the fact that language is imprecise, and at
times it is difficult to translate body sensations into words.
While taking some Chinese lessons, I questioned my teacher about the
expression of emotion in Chinese. I was told that there are four basic
emotions and the rest are combinations of emotion or impressions we have of
our self or others.
The four basic emotions are:
Bei grief, sorrow, mourning
Le joy, cheerfulness, optimism
Nu anger, rage, fury, berating
Xi value, compassion, happiness, love
Other feelings or states such as jealousy and envy are described as
impressions we have as a result of our thoughts and beliefs about other
people. Some psychologists suggest that your feelings come from your
thoughts. Others believe that emotions come from a deeper experience. If we
consider the four basic emotions as soul experience and other emotions as
impressions from thoughts and beliefs, then we can reconcile the two
theories. Recent research using Magnetic Resonance Imaging scans has shown
that our emotional centre reacts much faster than your thinking process.
Does this mean that the “thoughts into emotions” theorists are wrong?
Not really! It means that we need a more complex model to describe what is
going on.. In order to progress in your growth, regardless of the theory,
you need to learn to express and communicate your feelings, both the soul
and impression kinds.
In my travels to China I learned how precise the Chinese language is
compared to the English language. It seems that many of the Chinese
expression characters are actually a combination of words. For example the
root word bei, which means sadness, can be combined with other characters to
mean sad, sorrowful, melancholy, grieved, painfully sad, mixed feelings of
joy and grief, compassion, bitter, miserable, sad and worried, grief over
the death of a friend, grief and indignation, pessimistic and gloomy,
overcome with grief, sad and choking with sobs.
The same goes for the word for happiness – xi, when combined with other
words can mean outright glee, overjoyed, not feeling tired of it, buoyant,
cheerful, fun, pleasure and contentment. I found that the Chinese language
seemed far more robust that our English language.
There is also an important phrase “le ji sheng bei” which means “when
joy reaches its height, sorrow comes in turn, extreme joy begets sorrow.”
These words of wisdom echo the familiar phrase what goes up must come down.
Other phrases more completely described concepts rather than just feelings.
A word describing bitterness referred to “going through years of
suffering, to be full of misery but find no place to pour it out.”
Imagine if we could all become more literate and complex in our describing
of our feelings. I believe the best improvement in this area would be to try
to describe the combination of feelings and the situation or movement that
we are experiencing. This would help clarify and give deeper meaning to what
you are feeling.
For example instead of saying “I am hurt”, try to go deeper. You could
say “I am feeling sad and betrayed because I was let down when a promise
was broken.” This is far more precise and communicative than the words
“I am hurt.” Learn to be more descriptive! It is difficult to have
self-knowledge if you are not in touch with your emotions.
So how do you feel? Take a look inside! Do a self-check; by trying to
evaluate which emotions are present and which are not at a given moment.
Which emotions have you experienced recently? Which emotions would you like
to experience more often? Try combining words to try to express how you are
feeling. There is no rule that you can only be feeling one emotion at a
time!
Remember too, that sometimes you may have no words to describe how you feel.
An emotion may be simply a sensation in your body. Sitting quietly, scan
your body for tension. I would ask yourself “What am I feeling at this
moment?”
Try to use the concept of using multiple words and describing the situation,
expectations and what you hoped for, and what could have been done
differently to express yourself!

A leading weight-control research charity fears that exaggerated claims
about the extent of eating disorders are contributing to the general
obesity and weight issues crisis.
The Weight Foundation says that whilst major eating disorders remain
dangerous and distressing, over-zealous diagnoses are fanning the flames
of food distress.
Problem eaters and dieters are too readily being pushed into medical
categories, limiting abilities to self-help and recover.
And the campaigning and support body argues that much more research
emphasis needs to be placed on understanding dieting itself, which,
along with a growing number of experts, it contends is a major
contributor to the widespread weight and nutrition panic.
Typical predictions now commonly being made are that up to 30% of all
women will experience an eating disorder some time within their
lifetime, or that persistent dieting and frustrating obesity are
effectively eating disorders in their own right.
This is what is called 'pathologizing' - the defining of problems or
conditions into disease. Once issues become set in stone like this, the
focus of remedy changes. It goes from being voluntary habit change to
demanding treatment by third parties.
Some expert commentators not for one minute believe that up to a third
of women will suffer an eating disorder. However what a small number of
skeptical observers believe matters not at all - if people are generally
led to expect themselves to be at risk, then risk automatically
increases.
There is a mix of processes and pressures that are combining to
over-expand the territory of eating disorders.
Until recently, definitions of eating disorders have generally comprised
Anorexia and Bulimia. The research community is now settling on 'Binge
Eating Disorder' to capture the notion of repeated and out of control
overeating. BED as a concept is ring-fenced with a considerable array of
necessary anxieties and obsessions to differentiate it from lesser
overeating.
Despite the cautious progress of researchers in testing the boundaries
of eating disorders, a less-sophisticated eating disorders bandwagon is
creating a disruptive and destructive momentum.
One of the pitfalls of mainstream eating disorder research remains the
somewhat catchall term “Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified”
(EDNOS), which less careful commentators are misusing as an entry point
into the eating disorder spectrum.
Individual issues of self-image anxieties, overeating, continual dieting
and obesity concerns are being conflated into broader quasi-medical
conditions. Even some of the main advocacy and support groups are being
quite loose in their 'entry level' definitions.
This is not to downplay for one minute the dangers and distress caused
by full-blown eating disorders, including serious binge eating. However
people can exercise a far greater control over what is personal and
cultural than they can over what is becoming to be seen as endemic and
medical.
Mainstream estimates of in the order of c.1.2 million cases of eating
disorders in the UK and c.8 million in the US are suddenly being revised
upwards, often drastically, by the media and by the vast number of
mainly web-based weight-loss pundits.
A greater level of care needs to be generally exercised between what is
capable of being improved by personal lifestyle choices and what needs
specialist intervention.
The Weight Foundation is researching the causes and culture of long-term
dieting. It believes that dieting, for many people, has become a way of
life largely divorced from any useful connection with weight-loss and
weight-control. Hardcore dieters need a logical methodology through
which to unpack and unpick the emotional, cultural and commercial
influences to persistent and futile dieting.
However, the more the eating disorder enthusiasts push too many people
down the road of disease labels, the lower the chances for many of
establishing a natural and relaxed relationship with food.

Non compliance is one of the biggest issues health care practitioners face today. It even happens among ourselves. Practitioner or not, we all have some degree of this. There is a resistance to not taking better care of ourselves! I hear these excuses in my practice daily:
"I want to get better/exercise/eat right... I just don't have the time/money/energy".
"I can't remember to take my herbs or supplements!"
"I just can't afford the treatments".
Translates to: I don't love myself enough. I am not worthy. I don't deserve to feel better. I choose to neglect myself. I don't really want to get better. How will I get sympathy and attention if I am not sick?
Resistance to change, being unaware, making assumptions or preconceived ideas, fear, as well as our own belief systems are the most notable culprits when it comes to non compliance.
1. Try the 3 M's: Get motivated, get moving, get out the mirror!
2. Motivating ourselves is the fire, which jump starts our actions. Find a good reason to be motivated...good health, better career, a new relationship....whatever your reason, make your choice and stick to it! Then use tools to get you motivated. Try inspiring music, the power of scent (lemon, orange, floral scents) or a more mind centering process like yoga, meditation or hypnosis.
3. Moving is the action to your motivation! There is a mountain of proof that movement is the best thing for mind, body and spirit. Moving helps with depression, increases our cardiovascular system, moves energy (Qi) and blood, stimulates the brain, increases hormone production and takes us from one place to the next. Use movement as a tool.
4. A mirror is a reflection of ourselves. How many times have we seen ourselves in others, both the good and the bad. A mirror is also a great tool. A mirror will tell you the truth. Look into one. What do you see? Since it can reflect back our true self, take advantage of its power and speak your positive affirmations into it. An affirmation is a word, phrase or statement asserting the existence or the truth of something. It is the act of affirming, asserting or stating something. Speaking your affirmation into the mirror is the best way to make your words a reality.
5. Be More Aware: Learn what your resistance is about. Why are you not "taking your herbs", "listening to other's opinions instead of your practitioner's advise" or not "finding time to do your exercises"? Look inside yourself (try the mirror by speaking the truth into it). What do you see. Is it a deep seated belief holding you back? Is it the lack of self love, self respect, self discipline? Whatever the reason....acknowledge it. Do not judge it. See it for what it is....an obstacle in the way of change. A blockage that is not allowing you to transform. What is the reason behind this belief?
6. Make Room for Change: Make it a nourishing, self respecting place for change to take place in your mind. In the same way, create a life affirming, positive path to reach your goal. Make no excuses. Procrastination is the bi-product of feeling unworthy. Self worth leads us in the right direction.
7. A lack of awareness + not being grounded + being unfamiliar = FEAR. Become familiar with what your goal is. Once you are familiar with the reasons why your goal is important and familiar with the information you did not know or understand about your goal, this takes the fear out of it! Take initiative and responsibility in seeing your true goal through to completion.
Once you are familiar, there is less fear and you become more grounded in your approach.
8. Make Every Effort: to do something each day that brings you closer to your goal. You will do this now, because you understand why you want to reach this goal, what it means to you and the fear behind it is gone. You will make the effort now because your are aware of the fact that you love and respect yourself more and deserve to make the effort.
9. The Honoring of Ourselves: is something we tend to lose sight of, especially as we grow older. "Excuse instead of action" seems to be the norm, instead of the exception. Honoring everyone else first (husband, wife, children, family, friends, colleagues) is the path we so often go down first, before we take care of our own needs. If you are not in tip top (mind, body, spirit) shape, how can you effectively care for others?
10. The attaining of your goal is one of the most rewarding and self gratifying accomplishments we can do for ourselves. And guess what? You deserve every single bit of it!

One of the strongest areas in Chinese Medicine is that of trauma remedies. Cuts, bruises, lacerations, sprained joints and pain are just some of the daily problems, which can pop up unexpectedly.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the oldest, continually practiced, and professionally administered health care system in the world. It is a documented medical system spanning over 2,500 years
based on comprehensive philosophies, rational theories, clinically tested and empirically verified by over 100 generations of highly educated practitioners. Chinese Medicine is a total system of internal medicine which is comprised of a diagnostic procedure based on signs, symptoms and treatment styles including acupuncture, herbal medicine, exercise, diet and meditation. It's foundation is based on the principles of balance; the interdependent relationship of Yin and Yang. Through this balance, health is achieved and maintained.
Herbs are the "medicinals" in holistic healing. Chinese herbs are specifically used to create a decoction or "tea" and is a very powerful part of healing dis-ease. Herbal decoctions may also be given in "tea pills", tinctures, granules or as an external patch, compress, or bath.
Chinese Medicine: Trauma Remedies
Trauma Liniment
"Die Da Jiu Liniment", which literally translates to "hit fall wine" is the NUMBER ONE remedy for bruises, contusions, sprains and fractures. This formula was developed centuries ago in kung fu schools to treat bruises and injuries due to injuries that would
occur during daily practice. Soak a cotton ball and press this herbal formula into the skin where ever trauma to an area has occurred. Bruises, contusions, sprains, shin splints, repetitive motion
injuries and fractures, (which needs a proper doctor's care after a break), can be treated with amazing results. This herbal formula, which has been decocted in alcohol, has been prepared with safe and effective herbs to move stagnation of energy and blood that occur after injury.
Tendon Lotion
This combination of warming herbs is best used for chronic conditions or old injuries such as tendonitis, which includes tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, shin splints, old sprains or reoccurring problems
made worse by cold and dampness. When heat makes your injury feel better, this is the formula for you. Massage this lotion into affected areas twice a day. This unique blend of Chinese herbs works deep down into the tendons to stimulate circulation!
Trauma Pills
One of two patented formulas, Liangcai Xin Die da Wan (Tieh Ta Wan) is the internal counterpart to Trauma Liniment. Taken in tandem with the lotion, these pills strongly breaks up blockage of blood and fluid due to trauma. It moves accumulation, which sits in the area of
the injury, preventing blood from congealing in the tissue.
Yunnan Paiyao
Treating open wounds correctly is the best way to prevent scars from occurring. This patent formula alone helps the flesh regenerate and prevents blood stasis and infections, which could lead to scarring.
Valuable first-aid remedy for internal and external bleeding, traumatic swelling, insect bites, nosebleeds, open and infected wounds, ingrown toenails, spider bites, post-surgical healing, prevents scarring, stops bleeding, disperses stagnant blood, disinfects and stops some pain. Commonly used for excessive menstrual bleeding, severe menstrual cramps, ulcer bleeding, carbuncles. Take capsules both internally and externally by opening a capsule and sprinkling the powder directly into the wound.
Herbal Ice
Herbal Ice "San Huang San" is composed of three cooling Chinese herbs that reduce inflammation while dispersing congealed blood and fluids. This is the single most useful herbal poultice for your first aid
trauma kit! This is most helpful for immediate sprains, strains, turned ankles, muscle pulls, twisted wrists or severe contusions.
Where ever you would use ice, this should be substituted right away.
When an injury occurs, blood will stagnate in the muscle tissue and often does not reabsorb back into the system. The blood can congeal and harden, adhering the muscle fibers together and blocking normal circulation in normal areas, creating pain and stiffness. Applying
ice, can exacerbate this injury in the long term.
"San Huang San" Herbal Ice is in a Vaseline base and should be gently massaged into the injury morning and night. Wrap lightly with gauze and cover with an ace bandage (not too tight). Clean the area before
re-applying.
UI Oil
This wonderful massage oil (pronounced "ooh-eee") is used for stiff, sore, overexerted muscles and joints that are worse with the cold and dampness. This oil is also great to massage into cold muscles before exercise to help them warm up and to prepare them for stretching and
activity. This patent Chinese formula comes in a 1 fluid oz. bottle in a protective can.
UI Oil contains the light, warming aromatic oils of cinnamon, peppermint, lilac oil, and the tree resin "xue jie" also known as "dragon's blood" (a resin known for its ability to dispel congealing blood and relieve pain). The main ingredient is the warming herb "ai ye" or mugwort (folium artimisae). Mugwort's properties penetrate obstruction, activate local circulation and
drive out cold.
Black Ghost Oil
This oil, also known as Hak Kwai Pain Relieving Oil is the most deep penetrating massage oil used for deep bone bruising that occurs in areas where there is thick muscles overlaying bones. This area is bruised and painful but shows no visible swelling or discoloration on the surface. This is the MOST effective oil for this type of injury because it contains very aromatic herbs and oils, which penetrate this kind of obstruction.
Plasters
Plasters are an easy, quick and fast acting medicinal application for pain and overworked muscles. Back strain, joint pain and even bone spurs can be treated with plasters.
Salon Pas Patches
External Pain Relieving Patches these easy to use, no mess, no fuss peel off patches are fantastic for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints! These patches contain a rich
blend of menthol and camphor for stimulating blood flow and local circulation and help relieve pain. 40 patches per box. Great for muscle pain and soreness due to back strain, joint pain that is worse with cold and arthritis pain, which is better with warmth.

There is a combination of herbs in this plaster, which help to heal damaged muscles, tendons and ligaments. 701 plaster is used with remarkable results to help heal bone spurs, in areas not covered by thick muscles, including heal spurs and bone spurs in the shoulder area.
Hua Tao Plaster
This particular plaster is suitable for injuries which occurred 3-4 weeks ago and have stiffness and pain associated with it. This warming plaster helps impaired circulation and heals injuries that are cold to the touch, are sensitive to cold or for chronic injuries that are painful and achy in cold, damp weather.
Gou Pi Plaster
The strongest plaster available, these herbs are mixed with Pine Resin, which helps the other herbs penetrate more deeply through the muscle layers and tissue, right to the bone. This plaster must be heated befor applying. This is used to expel wind, dispel cold and dampness, quicken the blood and stop pain. Dr Edward Bach understood that where there was ‘dis-ease’ in the body, there was lack of harmony within the personality. As a respected and highly successful medical practitioner, he felt that the conventional forms of medical treatment for his patients were inadequate, and often presented a new set of symptoms to be dealt with. He spent many years researching vaccines and found that these, too, had unwanted side-effects. A highly sensitive person himself, Dr Bach began working with Samuel Hahnemann, the Father of Homeopathy, but found this form of treatment also lacked what he was seeking – a completely natural form of treatment with no side-effects whatsoever.
Dr Bach firmly believed that Nature held the answer, and refined his work with homeopathy. He came to the realization that the finer vibration of the plant, the essence of the flower, could be captured in a homeopathic-type preparation where the imprint of the flower’s healing properties were captured in the water and potentised by the sun’s life-giving energy.
Many people are familiar with Rescue Remedy™, Dr Bach’s most popular flower remedy formula, yet feel their understanding of Flower Therapy is quite limited. Through our common understanding of flowers and their meanings, we all know more than we realise.
In the Language of Flowers, we know that the rose represents love. In the language of Flower Therapy, the flower essences of the Rose family relates to aspects of love. The colour of a flower also provides indications of its properties. Purple flowers relate to spiritual energy and the crown chakra, whereas red flowers are often related to action and more physical aspects of life.
It is with these basic, yet often traditional uses of flowers, that we are further able to understand the Essence of the plant. For example, Aloe as a herb is used to treat hot and inflamed physical conditions and as a flower remedy Aloe helps those who are ‘hot-headed’ to maintain a cool and calm disposition, and assists in cooling the body. The leaves of Aspen quiver, as if trembling, even on the stillest of days. The flower remedy of Aspen is for the vague and unknown fears, the thoughts of “what if?” Those who need Aspen display these characteristics in their behaviour.
The Doctrine of Signatures, the ancient system of recognizing a plant's properties by observing its shape and form, also gives indications of the qualities of a flower's essence. Yarrow and Dill flowers resemble umbrellas, and both remedies are protective to the aura and the senses. As the Kangaroo Paw flowers, it blooms from a tight-lipped mouth to an elongated throat that reaches out and opens up to you. The essence of the plant encourages one to communicate openly and with a welcoming spirit.
More clues to the qualities of a flower’s essence can be found in its name. Water Violet reminds us of the shrinking violet, and is for those who are shy and reserved. Impatiens is the flower remedy for impatience, not just on the physical level, but for impatience on a soul level. This remedy is said to be Dr Bach’s personality type as he was constantly working long hours to research his findings, driven by a pure desire to find a holistic healing system for his patients.
Dr Bach’s foundation work on Flower Therapy has opened the doorway for many practitioners to expand upon his research, understanding and development of flower remedies. There are those who believe that Dr Bach’s original set of flower remedies cover every aspect of emotional, mental and spiritual imbalance. I believe had he lived a longer life he would have brought into being many more remedies for our use today.
Many are also are of the opinion that we would benefit most by taking remedies made from plants that are indigenous to the country and area in which we live. With modernization we find that very few of us live in our native country, therefore I feel we cannot limit ourselves to one range of remedies.
It has been my personal experience that the Bach flower remedies have a gentler impact than those of the Australian bush. Why? If you look at the weather conditions in both countries, England’s weather is quite mild and making a flower remedy takes longer due to the lack of intensity in the heat of the sun. Australia’s landscape, its diversity and its weather, is by contrast quite dramatic. The indigenous Peoples of Australia also have a very strong affinity with the land on which they live. I have found through years of using and preparing a variety of flower remedies, that the harsher the environment, the more ‘punch’ the flower remedy will have. For some, like Dr Bach, this impact may be too great. My personal experiences with many of the Australian native flower remedies are that they have quite a dramatic physical impact, whereas the English flower remedies are ‘softer’.
Being a sensitive person like Dr Bach, I find myself drawn to particular plants for the making of its essence. It is not surprising to see how these remedies are being called into being as they have their time and place in our society to balance the needs of today.
