Orange in Healing

Useful in energizing the central nervous system, orange relieves muscle spasms and cramps (including menstrual cramps), strengthens the lungs and kidneys, improves assimilation of food through effects on the spleen and pancreas and relieves the digestive tract, gas and irritable bowels. Use orange to relieve hiccups, stimulate appetite and stimulate hypo-thyroid (under active thyroid). Orange boosts the immune system and it also stimulates milk producing after childbirth.

Orange is associated with the healing of the sun and the power of fire. The warmth of orange gives us comfort and motivation. Food is an important and nourishing way to introduce color in our healing process. Our bodies benefit from the orange food group. Orange foods assist in detoxifying and releasing toxins. They help with the reproductive system, muscle and joint flexibility stagnation in many forms. Beta-carotene, Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Calcium are plentiful in orange foods. These foods help people maintain good vision fortify the immune system, promote proper bone and tooth development and help in the formation and maintenance of healthy skin and hair.

It helps lift us out of depression, fatigue, confusion and pessimism.  Variations of red, orange, red-orange are considered aggressive colors. They release energy. The complement color to orange, is blue.  It is best to avoid orange if you are easily excited or experiencing any type of anxiety disorder.  The remedy for “too much orange” in our lives is balanced by adding blue in the form of blue light, clothes, food or meditation. Blue is a calming, cooling color that harmonizes and helps us to express feelings and thoughts honestly.  Balancing orange with blue, gives us a sense of peace.
