Visuddhi: 5th Chakra (Throat Chakra): Sound, Creative identity, oriented to self-expression This is the chakra located in the throat and is thus related to communication and creativity. Here we experience the world symbolically through vibration, such as the vibration of sound representing language. The color for this chakra is blue. This chakra deals with communication and expression. The throat chakra is located near the thyroid gland. Opening this chakra allows you to speak the truth and to express your true feelings with love.

From here, you begin to know divine love and your personal power is strengthened with divine knowledge and wisdom. Physically, it governs the thyroid gland, lungs, vocal cords, bronchial apparatus and metabolism. To help activate this chakra, have water near you, and use blue candles. The symbol of this chakra is the Star.

Life development: The Throat Chakra – Chakra 5 represents the growth from age seven onward. This is the time to develop self-expression. The pre-pubescent period can allow us to have a voice especially if the lower chakra have been integrated enough to be able to support our base. With the feeling of being supported, it gives us the security to voice our message and be at peace with ourselves. Disruptive, abrasive, loud and bossy people tend to be the product of underdeveloped, lower chakra and poor development with ease and flow of energy, a need to listen or a lack of creative expression.
