Properties: Epidote AKA Pistacite, is a deep green, striated stone. It is the green inclusion in Unakite. It is known to strengthen over all health, heart, and well-being. It is a stone that offers energy to its user. Courage, stamina and growth are some of its abilities in helping take care of one’s self (food, rest, play…) Most effective on the Heart Chakra perhaps because it access desires held deep within. This is its connection to binding and strengthening relationships.
This stone offers the gift of generosity. With our new found generosity or the “gift of giving“, this gift often returns back to us, 3 fold. This heartfelt process can reward us with more of everything we wish for. The more we give, the more seems to manifest before us. More generosity = more prosperity.
The name of this stone comes from the Greek word for “increase“, which was aptly applied towards its spiritual nature and how it could bring one closer to God through the tenets of growth, knowledge and awareness. History: Epidote Ca2Al2(Fe3+;Al)(SiO4)(Si2O7)O(OH) is a silicate mineral that is commonly found in regionally metamorphosed rocks of low-to-moderate grade. In these rocks, epidote is often associated with amphiboles, feldspars, quartz and chlorite. It occurs as replacements of mineral grains that have been altered by metamorphism. This stone is also known as Pistacite. This stone as been found in such areas as Austria, Bulgaria, France, Mexico, Mozambique, Norway, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, and the USA.
Discovered as prismatic crystals, masses, and fibrous stone, these gems are often a variant of green to dark green, yellow to black. It is also found in association with a range of other minerals such as Albite, Calcite, Diopside, Garnet, Prehnite, Quartz and Vesuvianite AKA Idocrase.
