History: This crystal is a variety of the “Earth Stones” or Andalusite. It exhibits the axis and angle in a different color from the rest of the crystal forming a natural cross. This is a polymorph mineral as it shares the same chemistry makeup but a different crystal structure with one or more minerals particularly kyanite and sillimanite.
Named after the Andalusia province in Spain where it was first discovered.
