EARACHE
Earache: The Eustachian tube allows excess secretion to drain away from the ear. If this tube is not draining properly, secretion builds in the middle ear, pressure in the ear builds, and pain may occur. Certain infections, allergies, respiratory infections are all cause of earaches. You should see a doctor immediately for these can be signs of chronic infection, severe allergies, or a weakened immune system.
Other things cause earaches, too. Infections, such as swimmer's ear, can trigger pain. Atmospheric pressure from airplane travel and deep-sea diving can also cause ears to ache. Odd things, like tiny clippings from a haircut, can fall into the ear canal and irritate your ears. Then there's referred pain—a problem that exists somewhere else—that makes your ears tingle. Those earaches can originate in your teeth, tonsils, throat, tongue, or jaw.
Children get middle ear infections for several reasons. Their eustachian tubes, the canals that lead from the back of the throat to the middle ear, are wider and shorter than those in adults. The nerves to the area may not be fully mature yet, which can also affect the eustachian tubes. Also, children in day care centers may be more exposed to colds, which can lead to ear infections. The usual symptoms of a middle ear infection are pain and hearing loss, but adults and children can get ear infections without pain. Once infection occurs, the best thing to cure it is antibiotics, although some clear up on their own.
HERBAL TEAS:
In a stainless steel pot, boil desired amount of distilled water. The moment it boils turn the heat off. Add the following herbs in an infuser, muslin bag or tea ball for a single cup or add one-three teaspoons of herbs per cup for larger amounts. Allow the herbs to infuse for up to 5 minutes. Drink 3-4 cups a day. For flavor-add lemon and sweeten with Stevia or organic honey.
Four Ginseng Tea- Stengthens the reproductive and adrenal glands. Enhances immune funtion, promotes lung functioning and stimulates the appetite. Useful for bronchitis, circulatory problems, diabetes, lack of energy and stress. Can help to ease the withdrawal of cocaine, and can help to protect against the effects of radiation exposure. Siberian Ginseng, Suma (Maca), Korean Ginseng, Panax Ginseng, Oatstraw, Alfalfa, Gota Kola, Schizandra, Ginger.

HERBAL TINCTURES
Herbal tinctures are concentrated liquid extracts of the medicinal properties of herbs. Tinctures represent one of many different ways to prepare and use herbs. The terms tincture and extract are often used interchangeably. Technically these terms are an indication of strength used by manufactures.
Shake the tincture bottle well. As a dietary supplement, place 1/3 of a dropper (6-12 drops) under the tongue, or in juice or water as needed, 3-4 times a day.

Echinacea and Garlic are both wonderful because of their anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory porperties. Also,garlic oil and mullein oil work wonderfully when placed directly in the ear. Warm either of these oils slightly, then use a dropper to put a few drops in the ear that is hurting. Plug it loosely with cotton. To make garlic oil, crush a few cloves into some olive oil and let it sit for a few days, then strain it. Some people put a tiny, minced piece of peeled raw garlic directly into the ear; it eventually dissolves.

Belladonna 30c if symptoms occur such as fever, red, hot face, are more common in the right ear. If symptoms appear suddenly.
Pulsatilla 6c if symptoms occur due to a cold or nasal infection. If a child is weepy, clinging or whining during an ear infection. Also if the ear pain is less when a cold compress is placed over the ear.
Yoga poses can be good alternatives to "traditional" health remedies because they relax the body and mind, improve circulation and respiration, reduce tension and help the body through it's healing process.
EARACHE:
The Yogic breath exercise can be done without instruction, without danger, and with a good chance that your discomfort and stressful feelings will be reduced. Relaxation Breath is the most powerful tool for stress management.
Sit up, with your back straight in any position.
Place your tongue against the ridge of tissue just behind your upper front teeth and keep it there throughout the exercise.
Exhale completely through your mouth.
Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four.
Hold your breath for a count of seven.
Exhale completely through your mouth, to a count of eight.
Repeat this cycle three more times for a total of four breaths.
Try to do this breathing exercise at least twice a day. You can repeat the whole sequence as often as you wish, but don't do it more than four breaths at one time for the first month of practice. This exercise is fairly intense and has a profound effect on the nervous system.
Deep Diaphram Breath
Sit with your legs crossed in a comfortable position. Breathe slowly and evenly from your diaphragm, through your nose. Fill your lower abdomen, lungs, then chest with air. Hold for a four count then slowly exhale the air out from your chest, lungs, then lower abdomen. Repeat 3 or 4 times. That's it! Just allow your shoulders to drop and your face relax as you breath, deep.

MEDITATION:
Meditation is a time-honored technique that can take you into infinite dimensions of consciousness. One major principle to meditation is in the ability to completely quiet your mind. Quieting the mind comes as a result of meditating over a long period of time, but any time you are looking within, you are meditating.
There are many meditation methods. Some are passive and others are active -- not in the physical sense, but in the sense that you actually do something during meditation. Meditators learn to focus their awareness and direct it onto an object: the breath, a phrase or word: a mantra, repeated silently, a memorized inspirational phrase, an image in the mind's eye. Researchers have documented immediate benefits in terms of lowered blood pressure, decreased heart and respiratory rate, increased blood flow, and other measurable signs of the relaxation response.
Meditation will calm an agitated mind, creating optimal physical and mental health, undo our sense of separateness, which is the common root of fear and misery, unify consciousness, putting us in touch with our higher self and connect us to higher consciousness. Meditation restructures the mind, allowing us to achieve our full potential as human beings.
Fold your hands gently in your lap and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths. Then just sit. If you have never meditated before, you will probably feel as if your mind is full of thoughts. Don't try to stop the thoughts, just watch them. Imagine that you are on the bank of a river and that your thoughts are the river going by. Don't try to stop the river, just watch it. Within a week, you will see the river begin to slow down. You may become impatient, or even bored. That's okay. If you find yourself complaining, just watch the thoughts pass by. Do this for 5 to 10 minutes. You may find that you fall asleep because you are so relaxed. That's good because, in many ways, you have begun to let go. Continue at this pace and each day allow just alittle more time for yourself to meditate. Doing this allows you to relax and forget about time.

NUTRITION
Water is essential in any healing process. Distilled water is the best. 6-8 eight ounces glasses per day.
Food allergies can play a major role in earaches, especially during childhood. They are related before age 6. You can manipulate an infant's diet and do well in helping their ears. Eggs, orange juice, and milk have been implicated as ear aggravators in children. Parents should consult with their physicians about trying elimination diets. In general, these are foods that should not be eliminated. It is only after testing them out by, by first eliminating them and then re-introducing them back into the diet. Such diets seem to work best in infants less than 2 years old. After age 6, it is believed by experts that food plays a minimal role in most people.
For adults, diet manipulation should be undergone by each individual. If you think there's any food you eat that has an adverse effect on your ears, avoid it and see what happens, If your problem clears up, you may have a food allergy.
Eliminate milk and all milk products from the diet.
MANAGING YOUR EARACHE
Swimmer's ear can happen whenever you go into the water. Prevention is the key. If you know you are suseptable to this problem, earplugs are a great preventative. But if it's too late for that, make a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and rubbing alcohol. Get in the habit of rinsing your ears out with this potion when you come out of a pool or the ocean. Then gently dry your ears with a cotton.
Other preventive measures include shaking your head when you get out of the pool to expel trapped water. You can also place the tip of some clean facial tissue, twisted into a point, into each ear for about 10 seconds to soak up the moisture. Don't remove earwax from your ears, because it helps protect the ear canal from moisture.
When your head is upright, your eustachian tubes clear naturally. This is one reason children with an ear infection don't seem to be in pain during the day. They're busy playing and running around and their eustachian tubes are draining into the backs of their throats. Sipping water and swallowing triggers the muscular action that helps your eustachian tubes open and drain. Open tubes mean less pain.
Earaches. The old folk remedy of blowing smoke from your grnadfather's pipe into painful ears had a basis in fact. It not the smoke that relieved the pain, it is the warmth of the smoke. To do the same trick, turn your hair dryer to a low, warm setting. Then, holding the dryer 18 to 20 inches from the ear, aim that warm air into your aching ear.
Grab your outer ear. If you can wiggle it without pain, the problem is probably in the middle ear. If moving your outer ear causes pain, then the infection is probably in the outer ear canal. Again, warm garlic or mullien oil can help. Placing a drop or two of oil in the ear will help lessen the pain. Caution: Never drop fluids into your ear if you think the eardrum may be ruptured or punctured.
Chewing Gum. Most people know this is one way to open their ears on an airplane flight, but consider chewing gum at night. The muscular action of chewing will do the trick by opening the eustachian tubes. Even better, Yawn. Yawning moves the muscle that opens the eustachian tube even better than chewing gum or sucking on mints.
Hold your nose. Pinch your nostrils shut. Take a mouthful of air and then, using your cheek and throat muscles, force the air into the back of your nose as if you were trying to blow your fingers off the end of your nose. A pop will tell you when you have equalized the pressure inside and outside your ear. GENTLY!!!
If you have to fly and you know your sinuses are going to back up and block your ears, take a decongestant or use nose drops an hour before you land. When at home, use a decongestant at night before bed with a stuffy head to avoid the middle-of-the-night ache. An over-the-counter painkiller (aspirin, acetaminophen, or ibuprofen) will usually buy you time until you can get to a doctor.
