Your Personal Birth Chart

A birth chart, also called natal chart, shows the positions of the stars in a chart drawn for the exact time of your birth at a particular place on Earth for the purposes of gaining more insight as to who you are.

Because the sun, moon, planets, and primary angles in the sky are constantly in motion relative to the earth, as each second passes the natal/astrological birth chart is changing and a new chart is created for every moment at each location.

A natal chart is extremely personal and unique, depending on the specific date, exact time, and precise location of the birth.

The Power of Rituals

A ritual is a set of actions, performed for their symbolic value or to reach an outcome. Brushing your teeth or eating breakfast is a ritual. We do them everyday. Some rituals are done monthly, like paying our bills or paying the rent. We do seasonal rituals like planting the garden, harvesting the fields or once a year rituals like celebrating a birthday or a holiday.

Rituals give us the opportunity to start anew, refresh and reboot our lives, our intentions or goals. Rituals can be done with simple words (like a prayer or affirmation) other rituals use tools such as incense, water, candles or oils. On almost every page of this website, there is some form of ritual products!

Birthday Rituals: Creating A Space

Creating space has two meanings. You are literally creating a space for you to make your own in order to work, meditate or just call time out.   It also means,  creating space in your life or to make room for new and better things to come.

First, find a space to use on a regular basis. Doing this, conditions your mind to relax and to ascend. In time, just sitting in your space will immediately relax you. Your space can be a small area in your home where you can sit with your eyes closed for at least a few minutes each day.  Choose a clean, quiet place away from all distractions where you can sit on a chair or on the floor. If you use a chair, choose one that allows you to keep your back as straight as possible. If you sit on the floor, you may want to lean your back against something so that you can keep it straight.

Cleanse your space with sage or incense.  Create a border using a yoga mat, crystals, sea salt, or just create and acknowledge an area that is sacred and empowering for you.

Just sit quietly in your space for five to ten minutes. This will help establish your energy. Before you sit, you may light a candle or some incense, if you like. Eventually, lighting the candle or incense will signal your brain that it’s time for meditation.

The Map of Intention

When you break down the process of what true intention really is, you will find a process that unfolds before you. By applying this process, you create your intention. Here is how you map out your intentions:

1. Have purpose : Your reason behind your intention is purpose. Having a purpose infers a more determined path.

2. Design your intent : This suggests a more careful, laid out and calculated plan of action. What, when, why where, how.

3. Improve your aim : By improving your aim, you add to your implications or target effort directed toward attaining your intention.

4. Gain your objective : Create a clear objective by aiming for something tangible and immediately attainable.

5. Reach your goal : The goal is the result of your intention, put into action and attaining it by thought out effort and un-waiving focus.

You have now created your sacred space. Bring to it what you want. Use it for what it is and allow it to remain sacred.

A Brief History of Cake

In classical Roman “cakes” or flat rounds were made with flour, nuts, leavened with yeast, sweetened with honey and occasionally served at special birthdays. In ancient Greece. cake was more often served at weddings.

By the 15th century, bakeries in Germany conceived the idea of marketing one-layer cakes for customers’ birthdays as well as their weddings, and the the modern birthday cake was born.

During the 17th century, the birthday cake took on more contemporary form. However, these elaborate cakes, were only available to the very wealthy. Birthday cakes became more available to everyone as a result of the industrial revolution.

In contemporary Western cultures, the birthday boy or girl blew out candles on the cake after those celebrating sung the birthday song.  This use of fire in ritual is ancient. It is sometimes claimed that the tradition of placing candles on birthday cakes could be attributed to early Greeks, to honor the goddess’s birth on the sixth day of every lunar month. Birthday candles, in folk belief, are endowed with special magic for granting wishes. Traditionally, the birthday person makes a private wish, which will be realized if all the candles are extinguished in a single breath.

One Bowl Birthday Cake

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×9 inch pan or line a muffin pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan.  Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cake is done when it springs back to the touch.

New Moon Ritual

While some may assume that full moons are the most favored time for ceremonial ritual, the new moon is just as popular. The transition between day and night, sun and moon reminds us of the continued transitions and spiritual growth we go through each day.

Some Feng Shui practitioners perform New Moon rituals with important desires to be carried through the new moon’s three-day phase. For a birthday ritual, the new moon can be utilized to induce wisdom and courage for difficult tasks throughout the New Year. The new moon phase can be seen as a time for rejuvenation.  Do this ritual on the nearest new moon to your birthday!

Crystal Ritual

Crystals and gemstones are one of the most beautiful, mystical and profound “energy medicine” tools, which have been used for centuries throughout all cultures, religions and empires. Using the gemstones associated with your birthday, hold them at heart level in your dominant hand. Ask your heart to use them for good intent and ask for your intention to manifest. This is programming your crystals.

Burn any type of incense to clean and clear your area. Sage, cedar, lavender, patchouli are all great cleansing herbs. Lay the above birth and gemstones in a circle. It is remcommeded that you sit in the center of the circle. Close your eyes and meditate on your life path. Your life path are 3 points. The past that you came out of…. the present you are currently in…. and the future you are about to enter. Honor each life path, as it was a learning experience.

1. See your past path as water passing by you and is now gone.

2. See your current path as the launching pad for your good intentions. State what you want your life to be this year coming.

3. See your future path in full imagery, manifesting what you just asked (intended) your life to be. If you don’t see yourself doing this, look much harder. You must actually visualize yourself doing it is you want to be doing and where you want to be in your future path!

Open your eyes at your at your own leisure and thank your crystals. You may then clean them and put them away, as they worked very hard for you. Discover more about the wonders of crystals…

Your Rainbow Connection

We are ALL born as “children of light”. Using the full color spectrum of light in meditation can be a very peaceful and rewarding attunement to the power of color. Color holds a special power over us, and often the full spectrum of visible light that we can see, offers us insight, as to who we are…

“Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had, and what you’ve learned from them, and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.”

“To know how to grow old is the master work of wisdom, and one of the most difficult chapters in the great art of living.”

~ Henri Frederic Amiel

Combined Celebrations

If your birthday happens to fall on the same day as a spiritual holiday related to a season, saint, god/goddess or myth, you may feel torn between how you can celebrate both the holiday and your birthday in a ritual. Like most religious holidays, they are reminders of our world’s creation and things to be thankful for.

Remember, you have inherited the combined joy or celebration of this holiday, solstice or event! What a lucky gift you have recieved!

You can incorporate a “special thanks” into your ritual as you meditate on the importance of the holiday. If you are giving an offering with your ritual, try something that can symbolize your birth or personality as a way to remind yourself of how the world is connected through our energies and existence.

The Numbers In Your Name

Based on an ancient system of numbers and corresponding letters, you can unlock the secrets to your birth name, birth date and other significant numbers in your life, based on the system of numerology.

Numerology is the study of numeric symbolism is used to determine your personality, strengths and weaknesses, talents and inner needs, emotional reactions and obstacles. Use numerology to better understand your life. Try this using your full birth name:

Determine your Expression number: For example: Jason Fredrick Alexander

Jason is 1 + 1 + 1 + 6 + 5 = 14 (reduced to 1 + 4) = 5

Fredrick is 6 + 9 + 5 + 4 + 9 + 9 + 3 + 2 = 47 (reduces to 4 + 7) = 11 (this is a Master number, do not reduce this further)

Alexander is 1 + 3 + 5 + 6 + 1 + 5 + 4 + 5 + 9 = 39 (reduces to 3 + 9 = 12) reduces to (1 + 2) = 3

So, 5 + 11 + 3 = 19 (reduces to 9 + 1 = 10) reduces (1 + 0) = your Expression: Number 1

“we grow each day as time goes by, from week to week, to months that fly, away as we approach the climb, from when we’re born, that special time. Our day of birth should be profound, for its the day when we came round ~ to show the world just who we are, and leave a mark that reaches far~ and wide we stretch our arms out long, obtain our purpose and be strong!”
